I take gabapentin as well but can't really take it during the day bc it knocks me out so bad. It's like the benadryl of anxiety meds - "can't have a panic attack if you're in a coma lol". Zoloft does take awhile to work, and many people say others notice the difference before they do. Have you tried coping strategies like grounding or mindfulness? Those are my emergency ones
Hi Tipper, I took 50 mg of Zoloft for over 10 years while seeing a psychiatrist weekly (expensive!). I worked and had a good career. Went off it a few yrs ago and then tried it again but I didn't feel it helped. I've recently had difficulty sleeping - my main issue. I find 25 mg doxylamine succinate (1/2 of a Unisom tablet) along with 10 mg doxepin help me sleep well. I have 300 mg and 100 mg capsules of gabapentin. I try not to take it often. Prescribed for a tremor but take 1 at night to relax before bedtime (8 pm).
I hope this helps you. I hope you feel better.
Best,

You don’t mention if you are doing anything else besides taking medications. If not, I would recommend studying meditation, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Physical exercise is also good for anxiety, and you may want to consider therapy.
