Are you willing to share how you treated depression? What did you find helpful? Do you still struggle with depression at all?
Treatment often involves a combination of therapy, medication, lifestyle changes, and support from loved ones. Therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), will help you learn coping strategies and address negative thought patterns. Medications like antidepressants can also be effective too. Additionally, maintaining a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise, proper nutrition, and sufficient sleep can support your overall well-being. It's important to find what works best for you with the guidance of a healthcare professional.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is where I tend to struggle, I am consistently inconsistent food choice wise, and I like to exercise, however I took off for December to spend time with family and I haven’t been back at it with both eating right and exercising, causing a weight gain, and of course that makes me feel more depressed
Thank you for your post. Did you take medication? What else helped?
Thank you.
Yes I did, Other things that can help include establishing a support network of friends and family, engaging in activities you enjoy, practicing mindfulness or relaxation techniques, setting realistic goals, and seeking professional help when needed. It is also essential to prioritize self-care and be patient with yourself during the recovery process.

Yes but... Like some of the other commenters have said, it is rare to have one depression. Those people may respond to a major life event (death, divorce) with depression but are otherwise ok enough. People who look into these kinds of lists and groups are lifers -- depression comes and goes (and yes, it always goes, but it also always comes back eventually) and takes a lot of work to manage. You have to stay vigilant with sleep and exercise and social experiences and meds (which will inevitably need to be changed). The episodes come and go, and we should not feel at fault when they come back.
I believe you though it may take time.
Exactly. However sometimes people have treatment resistant depression in which you don't get any relief from any medications and you try many and nothing seems to work for many years. This is very sad that some people are depressed for years and years and years. I have myself major depressive disorder, PTSD and adjustment disorder and I have been in fact in a depressive episode for the last 4 years and only just starting to come out of it and be getting to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel that I have to dig myself out of the depression.
