I turned 40 recently and have been coping with anxiety, depression, and loneliness for almost my whole life. The end of last year was a very bad phase for me and I had tried to reach out for help. Finally, I have been offered professional help. I am also reading 'No More Mr. Nice Guy'. Finally, I am starting to understand what's wrong with me and therefore have hope to manage my problems better. With this in mind, I have started my search for 'safe' groups where I can finally open up without being judged, get the right support, and start changing myself for good.
I hope I have found the right group. All your support is appreciated.
Welcome to the group . You have definitely found your people your tribe so to speak you're in the right place because everyone here is so very nice and supportive to you especially when people reach out and are having a hard time with things. I'm glad that you joined our group and if there's anything specific that you need help with just let me know and I would be glad to assist you in any way I could. I myself suffer from major depressive disorder, PTSD and adjustment disorder and I am just getting out of a four-year battle of a depressive episode that started before covid and lasted until 2 weeks ago. I'm just now starting to see that glimmer of light from the tunnel that I'm digging myself out of the darkness and depression. Some ways that you could help yourself right away or journaling if you've never done that before just to get your feelings out on paper helps you immensely, intentional breathing with the 567 method where you breathe in for 5 seconds holds it for 6 seconds and then breathe out for 7 seconds. This intentional breathing always helps you to relax if you're anxious at any time. Hoping these suggestions help in your time of need. Looking forward to chatting more and if you need anything reach out I'm here. Have a good one and wishing you peace and well-being.
