calf and foot cramps

after a long weekend of golf I noticed my calf started twitching. I googled what could cause this and boy did it send me down a rabbit hole.

What I read made me have a panic attack and for the last three weeks, anxiety and stress have really taking a toll on me. I’m trying to stay positive, but I believe all the stress and anxiety has made the condition worse.

now I am having cramps at night and in the morning which triggers a panic attack. I feel like I’m in a vicious cycle.

hi beyou. I have been straining my calves and hamstrings the past couple of years. I started taking magnesium and that helped my calves. I eat a lot of bananas regularly. I ended up going to physical therapy for some sciatica and achilles pain and I think that my hamstring problem is rooted in a muscle imbalance/compensation issue. I am working on that and it seems to be getting better. I think there are a lot of possible issues, it can be a pain to find out... Epsom salt baths, foam rolling, and heat are all supposed to help as well. If ageing well is your thing then there is a podcast called the Ben Greenfield podcast that is very interesting. He goes to extremes, but I think he is educated and interesting to listen to. I think that I have listened to an episode or two on cramping and also salts. Best of luck and I wish you peace, hope, and strength.

Try the banana trick as it contains both potassium and magnesium which makes twitching muscle fibres relax.

But if you have a kidney disease get advice for your doctor.

You can also take magnesium as a pip when out and about.. twitching issues often settle within 40 minutes of ingesting anything with magnesium of potassium…

You may have gotten dehydrated.. through physical exercise ..this means you got a tad low on electrolytes… keep a bottle of Gatorade in your caddy…. If it helps .. then no worries.
