Clues about panic

The other day that I was shaking uncontrollably from a panic attack.

I noticed my body was super cold. Because here in California we are used to warm weather.

But the 3 times I had a panic attack I noticed it was super cold.

I’m thinking that me being cold mimics the tremors from a panic attack?

Like my muscles shake in order to become warm?

Because 2 out of the 3 panic attacks I’ve had so far my mind is clear. I can actually think straight.

And it’s usually my legs and buttocks that shake uncontrollably

It usually happens after I leave the office room which is the coldest room in the house.

It can be a combination of both?

Being cold and anxiety? = panic attack

One could exacerbate the other. I’m reaching here, but is there something you do in the office that could trigger a panic attack ?

I’m in the home office and it’s super cold there. I guess my feet or legs get super cold that when I go to bed my feet start to tremble. Maybe I should walk for a few minutes before going to bed?

Walking for a few minutes should get the circulation going again. Try wearing a little warmer clothing and socks when you’re going to spend any length of time in your office. See if that helps.

Yes I do have some sweat pants and some heated socksI’m gonna put those on

And be nice and warm. If it still happens then it’s definitely my anxiety

Can you put a small electric heater in your home office?

Is there a chance you have some type of physical cause?

I had a flare up of a GI problem and had an episode of shaking and being freezing cold.

Best wishes!

It’s highly possible Rafiki11 that it can be related to my gut. Knowing that I do have ulcerative colitis

Have you had your thyroid checked to see if it is functioning properly? Some of the symptoms you are describing are the same as thyroid issues. You should also make sure your hormones (testosterone) and adrenals are functioning properly. All three of these can cause or contribute to depression/anxiety if not functioning well.

Hello designguy,

I was thinking that too. But last year I was having the same exact issues so my doctor did some blood test to check my thyroid and it came back normal.

It might just be good old anxiety.

Good for you for ruling that out. It can also be the affects of anxiety. What helped me with the anxiety was learning to no longer fear the anxious thoughts and feelings and the DARE anxiety book and youtube videos are good for that.
