I just got a call from my husband's sister who is an RN.
I can't type I'm so scared.
She was talking to my husband on the phone just a little while ago and he was complaining of a lot of pain in the leg the surgery was performed on. Not near the incision.
Nurse came in the room and talked to him and to her on the phone.
Conclusion: possible blood clot.
The nurse said she'd speak to the doctor -- he's not there now.
Apparently the plan is / was to do some test. (I don't remember what.) HIs sister said she told them she doesn't want them waiting till morning for it. She asked about him being taken to the Emergency room tonight.
She also is trying to find out if he has been on blood thinners. We both brought that up in the beginning, because his blood cancer makes his blood too thick. The Cancer hospital said they'd leave it up to the doctor's at Rehab.
I'm so scared, just waiting to hear what's going on.

He wasn't on blood thinners -- even though I asked the first day if they were needed -- until tonight, when his sister raised Cain. He's on them now.
She is far more knowledgeable about what's going on than I am. She's calling me regularly tonight to keep me updated.
If it wasn't for her calling the Nursing Supervisor a few days ago, their awful care would never have changed; I wasn't getting anywhere. I called her with my list of the problems, she talked to them, and now the staff treats him well! Just an overnight miracle.
I was planning on going there, but I think it's better this way. We had a long talk and she said they're keeping a close eye on him and keeping in touch with her. She's explaining things to me.
No one sits on a potential blood clot. Ask his sister to question that. Maybe they did blood work to check things?
I hope things work out well. Advocating by asking questions is the best way to go. By law you are still his wife which makes you the next of kin unless he's asked them to not allow you any info.
Again nothing I say takes the place of his medical team.
That's good you are in the loop. Call them 100 times. It's best for your anxiety to ask questions. You don't have to " know" medicine. A good health care team should help you understand things.
My prayers are with you during this awful night! And I am thrilled his sister is helping you. (I say get through the night in whatever way you need to...in this case, chocolate chip cookies are not a bad choice. 🤣 If it were me, it would be whiskey!) 🙏❤️ 💓
We may be able to sneak some in once we're through the HU door all clear on breathaliser test if take your whisky and my wine in none alcohol bottles 😇😁it's mine and dolphins house warming party next Saturday I think if NBB still doing us one 😁
I've got John Lennon's "Whatever Gets You Through the Night" on my mind now.
Hi love🤗 try not to think the worst he's in good hands these things are usually easily sorted, keep us updated sending love and strength to you and your family 💛🌟xxx
I’m sure he’ll be getting anti blood clot injections for awhile while he’s immobile I think that’s standard nowadays post - op …I had them for about month afterwards….subcutaneous ones.
Hope all is well. If he's keeping up the excercises he was taught, he should be fine. This Is why I think they chuck you out without enough supervision. At one time they kept you in and kept the muscles working to prevent clots.
