closing my eyes

I had to fly from home in Canada to Nashville and I was alone. I had a hard time the whole day with constant anxiety and I kept my eyes closed when ever I was sitting. Has anyone experienced this? As soon as I’m stressed I have a hard time keeping my eyes open but I don’t sleep.

I’ve done this - my guess is we’re shutting out the world by doing this I’d rather do that than have a full blown panic attack which is what can happen if I don’t shut some of the stress out 💛

That's what would make sense to me: that it provides an escape. This might be too personal, but is there a history of any childhood abuse, particularly sexual or violent, or witness to?

Thats an interesting experience that I have not shared. Do you remember when that started, closing your eyes in response to stress?
