I’ve been recently going through some medical issues that are leaving me feeling alone at night bc when the panic sets in nobody is awake. Just been having some moments! And some cocktails. I joke but I’ve been really afraid.

just feeling lonely
As Dolphin14 says, always someone awake somewhere.
I am up because I work nights, so this is my down time. Sorry you are having panic at night. I used to be restless and wake up in the middle of the night feeling too much energy so I would get up and do something creative. Is there a hobby you could do to help you get through the panic, instead of turning to drinking? Not that it's wrong to have a drink though. But maybe a short workout, drawing or painting, whittling, reading, just something productive to pass the time and relax. All the best.
Hi Charlie.....so sorry to hear about your nighttime fears. I have them sometimes, too. I find that listening to podcasts helps.....just to hear the sound of another human voice makes me feel not so alone.
I understand. I've got medical issues too. I'm afraid of losing my vision. Nighttime is the worst. No one to talk to and so eerily quiet. I got a prescription for trazadone and that has helped me sleep and relax at night. I've tried meditation but that hasn't worked yet. You know what else doesn't work: booze. Sure it helps temporarily, but then the relief is gone and you just need more and more of it. Hang in there Charlie. Don't hessitate to ask for help. As some folks said here: there's always someone here to listen.
