Just like to say, your name you go by on the forum is vital for your thinking. If you use a name that put you down or is all about whats wrong with you. That enforces your believe about yourself, what you say and think is vital for your mental health. Never put yourself down, never ever do that, you see what you thing about expands and becomes true for you! Things like recovering, improving, getting better, trying, looking for a way, seeking health, developing, learning to, higher up the ladder, etc are better in your name and thoughts and words. Ray.

my name came from a cat I use to have...And he got that name from Black Sabbath
I once had a little cat called Primrose, she lived in a disused garage at the back of the house where my friend and I shared a flat. Naturally we took her in! and she became known as the flat cat…also homes were found for her kittens. We weren’t allowed pets in the flat so panicked every time the doorbell went and we had to whip the cat litter tray out of sight. Once we were caught out when the man called for the rent unexpectedly and didn’t have time to get tray/cat shut in a bedroom but even though he saw it nothing was ever said. And I have always loved the delicate shade of the little primrose, the wild ones I mean. Not for me the brightly coloured primulas which most people seem to call primroses these days!
Thank u for pointing this out. Depressing user names don’t inspire a lot of self worth if your name just reminds you of all your troubles. That can go both ways as well I may not respond sometimes if I see a disturbing user name for fear I’m going to trigger them. Idk, it always makes me stop and hesitate which I don’t like. “Kelly” was always a name I wanted as a kid. Unfortunately got stuck with Charlotte. Great post, great point 👍
👍
Awe, beautiful! Mine woke me up at 4 AM to eat. He’s a pain in my ass. I’m a huge dog lover but kids brought cat home 10 years ago, and you know how that goes, he’s now basically mine. We have a love/hate relationship, lol. He’s has seniority over our dogs and definitely uses it😀
Thankyou Twinklystar, I love your name and your picture. I hope you have a good day too xx
👍
ha, love it!
Well put! I think alike too.
When I was choosing my username for this forum, the same thing ran through my mind.
I think what exactly happens is, that when we decide to get on a support group like this, we generally are not in the best of our mental space. Even if we are, the feeling of entering into a support group itself makes us emotionally vulnerable, hence the choice of our usernames.
Tbh, I was about to write a sad username too but then I thought, "... When I log in to this site, that username will make my symptoms worse, making me sadder than before and I really don't want that! "
That's when I counted all the good things that happened to me and hence, the username!
Glad you picked the name you did. It doesn’t scare me away like some do. In fact, it’s very welcoming! Great choice👍
Mine is from a line in a movie 😂 and the profile picture is of my dog
I think you make a valid point -- for some members. My user name is not happy or upbeat. I experience CPTSD, and get no real-world validation. I'm told to shut up about pain, I'm causing trouble hurting. So my name, here, is an acknowledgement that my trauma is REAL.
Great name, uplifting. 🌠
A bit sinister.
While IlMinded doesn't sound thoughtful, it was my nick name in the gaming world since the early 2000s. It was something more original than Changeinme2002, which was the original lol. I don't deem it as a negative name but more a mask I wear when talking with newer people.
Hello Gerred i have my initials and my birthdate as my username i will hopefully change it at one point to Proudhijabi 😄
love that hiba! I’m thinking of CharlottesWeb, although unofficially I’m now VPofTP. Such big changes to consider😀👍
He’s definitely interested in that window.😀
oh wow! Just clicked to enlarge and saw the dog!! No wonder he’s so engrossed, ha 😀
That is way to cute
you have a really good point…never thought of that actually. I think I naturally went with how I’ve identified for so long now but perhaps the key is to transcending this is to start with a name that inspires hope and positivity. Thank you for this.
I think ImUnstoppable is great. It does inspire hope and positivity … don’t change it, I love it.
oh no that’s the updated one. 😀 The one before was a tad depressing.
ok so don’t change the new one, it’s inspiring!
👍❤️
Good observation!
