I am new here and looking to connect with others who are also going thru what I do with high anxiety and depression. I am super sensitive to medication so it is hard for me to handle most medicine. I want to get the DNA test so I can get the right medicine to help me thru while I am utilizing the holistic tools to be able to regulate myself.
Thank you,

Welcome. Wishing you luck in finding what works for you. I've dealt with anxiety since I was a child. I do depend on meds to help, but that's not the only answer. There are lifestyle answers like diet and exercise, there are coping strategies too. Be persistent, reach out for help. None of what is going on with us is our fault.
Thank you. I am making the strives now to make it better for me and those around.
hey crystal and welcome! I think the DNA test is a great idea. Wish they would have had this around years ago. Finding the right medicine is so difficult and sometimes a long process. Getting an edge on this with the DNA test might save you a lot of time in trying different meds. Very smart thinking on your part. I’ve struggled with high anxiety for years, and depression is now a newer visitor that I didn’t see coming! Use your holistic approaches, diet, exercise, meditation, deep breathing, etc in the meantime. Keep moving! Anxiety is reminding us that something in our life is not aligning with our true self. I know, such a heavy thought that makes me exhausted to think about, but so necessary. Talk therapy helps too. Be well, always here.
Thank you. Yes it is so true. Diet and exercise is important. I haven't been able to eat much so every time I am able to eat I eat whatever I can handle at the time. I have lost a lot of muscle as well. thru the last yr exercise brought me to tears being in pain and wore me out but looking back I can see my anxiety levels were not in control for the last 2 years like I thought they were. I am hoping that after I see the ENT I will get some answers on what is going on with my head in that regard and get some treatment and allergy testing. Medications for allergies raise my anxiety level so I need something better. I am ready for better and dealing with my mental health has to come first so the rest will align.
Absolutely agree. I need to see an ENT as well. We moved to a different city and I sneeze, cough way more than before and current allergy meds not working anymore. This ruins my sleep which makes the anxiety worse. Exercise is so critical. I have severe back pain from spinal stenosis so walking any worthwhile distance usually ends too quickly. Bought a rowing machine for myself for Xmas. This has been good for back pain while still strengthening my core. My family has really pissed me off by saying the machine will just become a coat rack, so now I’m more determined than ever to prove them wrong. It’s not ideal but it’s better than nothing. Hope you can see ENT soon and find relief from the allergies. Definitely feel you! 🙏
Thank you, I went to the ENT dr this morning. He prescribed an antibiotic suited for what's going on in my sinuses and a steroid pack. I am believing I will start getting better from here on out. Going to talk to the psych dr on Thursday to discuss other ways to deal with anxiety. Most meds do not work with me well so hopefully we will start finding something.
This is good news. Getting the sinus issues under control will make you more comfortable so you can better deal with the anxiety. Sure hope antibiotics work and look forward to hearing if your Psy doc has any ideas on other meds for you. I’m happy you’re getting it all done. Better days are ahead! 🙏
Hello and welcome to the group here. I did a psychopharmacological test that used my dna to determine which psych meds were best for me genetically and found it very helpful. Mine was from Genesight and was paid for by my insurance. It showed that none of the half-dozen meds I had tried before were right for me. I started on one it recommended which was a different type of med and it has helped.
