My name is Ronin. I recently moved to North Carolina. Have no friends or family here. It's been a long time since I've talked to someone. Like seems not too great. I spend hours walking around. If I'm not walking then I'm watching TV, but can't complete a whole show or movie. I sometimes don't want to eat. When I walk up, I can't fall back to sleep. I keep looking at my phone for a text or call but there's no one there. Sometimes it seems like there's nothing else to life.

New Here
takes awhile in a new place plus people underestimate how different the culture is depending on where you moved from. It can feel lonely. I know there are meetups there, especially in the triangle. Lot of transplants too. Have you checked them out?
Hey Blue! I haven't yet. I live near Charlotte. Would love too. Thanks for reaching out.
I think youโll find meetup groups there. I find movie and hiking groups to be the least pressure. Thereโs always people who just moved too. Itโs just a good way to meet like minded people or just have fun. Just download the app and get started.
Hi,
Thank you for the post.
You can be lonely anywhere in the world. Home is really where you hang your hat.
๐ค . Check out your local community centre for things happening in the neighbourhood
I am in Australia.
Welcome ๐
Finding and joining a group is not always easy, but just showing up makes the rest easier, I believe. Welcome.
welcome to this kind supportive site your not alone ๐
Hey Ronin, welcome to this group where you have plenty of others in similar places as yourself. You aren't alone in this feeling. There are many times where I feel incredibly lucky to have the amazing friends I have today. But there are also several other times where I'm feeling sad and don't feel like I have friends. It sucks - especially as an adult because making new friends is harder. Best of luck to you!
I appreciate it! The hard part is not having neighbors and being in a small town. Not to many friends to make at the local grocery store. Thanks for reaching out!
Small towns are hard in that way. I find that they can also be hard because of the small population, it usually means smaller percentage of those around our ages.
Additional idea for finding friends is online? Not sure if its' your vibe but during the pandemic, I found myself leaning towards online friends through facebook groups, reddit groups, and discord groups. Find your niche and there is likely an online community that also shares similar likes whether that be movies, music, hobbies, geographical location, etc. Kind of like what you're doing right now on this site
Welcome to the community

I appreciate that. How do you kope with it?
