Hello i am trying to go back on track with my uni studies. Does someone have some advice about how to build selfdiscipline?

From personal experience, I'd say staying healthy is the most important. Get enough sleep (important!), eat healthy food that would make you feel energized, and do exercise from time to time to stay active. Will power also depends on physical wellness.

Another suggestion I learned is that you'll need three factors to make good progress: accountability (external push to study), positive feedbacks and a little bit of friendly competition. There should be resources in uni to help you with that: advisors, study groups, TA sessions, etc.

With staying healthy i am almost okay, i have to fix my sleeping schedule. I definitely have to work on on the 3 factors you mentioned. Thanks for the advices.

If your problem is with getting stuff done or with concentrating/staying on-task, you could try doing schoolwork in public place like a library rather than at home. It really helped me in the past when I took online courses. I'm a terrible student at home, but I was surprised how much self-discipline I managed to have when I was going to the library every day.

Alternatively, if you have to study at home, make sure to have a space just for that. Sitting down at a desk that's specifically for schoolwork is a lot more motivating than sitting down on a sofa that's primarily for relaxing.

In terms of having self-discipline while in your study space, my secret weapon was having designated goof-off activities. If I got too distracted, I would switch to an activity from of a list of things I deemed acceptable to do in that space. For example: making a phone call, writing a grocery list, tidying my binder, etc. I would do something different/easier that was still productive, that way I always kept associating that space with getting stuff done. The trick is to not learn to associate your study space with time-sink distractions like social media, netflix, or video games.
