I realized, I’ve always had anxiety. Even if I do t have panic attacks or feel dizzy. I realized I just cooked better that day, week, or month. And bam. There it is again.

Hi,

From your post, I think you have accepted anxiety for what it is, recurring and a occasionally a good thing. The psychologists call this eustress.

Here's hoping that the next attack is a while coming. 🐈‍⬛

You kinda sound a little bit like me.

I've been a "worrier" and struggled "relaxing" my entire life.

So I probably had GAD my entire life to a certain degree.

.

But when I had my "breakdown moment", it was kinda like my body trying to tell me that I needed to make changes, and can't stay at that pace anymore.

^ That was when I first started with my panic attacks, and got officially diagnosed with GAD. (which I'm still working on)

The way to heal anxiety is to realize it can't harm you and to get comfortable with the anxious thoughts and feelings and allow them to pass. It's our bodies builtin protection system but now that we are functioning adults we no longer need protecting but it's still functioning as if you do.

This sounds like my case - always a worrier. However, when I got older, and there were "real" things to worry about (kids, career, finances, etc.) things morphed in a negative way, and I couldnt' control the anxiety/worrying so easily. Drinking was used to "relax". It wasn't until I sought help and understood the root causes things started to become more clear - however, it's still a struggle.
