I have been feeling very fatigued for the last several weeks and attributing it to my major depressive disorder, got blood work back last week and discovered I am anemic. Starting iron complex pills and look forward to feeling better

Thank you I have high hopes that I will

That low Iron will definitely zap your energy. Hopefully you'll be up and running in no time.

I know thank you I haven't even been able to work out

I had a very minor intestinal bleed a few years ago triggered by a reaction to low dose aspirin and I couldn't figure out why I was so tired all the time. Blood work showed low iron and vitamin D deficiency. Once I got those two issues in control I was back to physically feeling 100%. Too bad we can't take care of our mental health issues just as easily.

I know it feels better to have this information and to know actually what's wrong than I'm not imagining it. Actually I went through this period of eating one meal A-day for a while because of inflation and I bet you that had something to do with it as well

try eating food high in iron, cook with an iron pan.... sometimes iron pills can be hard on your stomach. I just went through this-spinach, beet liver, red meat....I don't really like meat so it was hard to eat it. I made meals I liked as a kid. Grandma used to make liver and onions, it was ok. I hope you feel better soon.

glad you’re bloodwork came back and now you know what is going on. To often we blame our psychological disorders on something that is actually physical. Feel better !!

Try to get yourself into a routine of going to bed early enough to get a good nights sleep - preferably before midnight. Get up early enough to do some gentle exercise, this will kick-start your body's hormones into action and help start a daily 'feel good factor.' Then before work, school, college, or whatever it is you do, have a decent breakfast, always with a little protein. This is something you can do, so maybe you should ask yourself, Do I want to carry on feeling crap, or do I want to feel better and enjoy my life? Only you can do it!

Wow, that would definitely explain the fatigue, hope you feel better and your depression also improves.
