My recent psychiatrist prescribed for me Prozac or Fluoxetine with my current meds: Zoloft, venlaxifine 75 mg and depakine 500 mg chrono for my pure OCD. She did that to wean me off from venlax and zoloft gradually while keeping prozac 20 mg. It has been years I am taking the same treatment and it is working the best for me except when stress increases, then I would relapse a bit only to overcome it in the coming days. Apparently, I am her lab experiment since she likes to write articles about medical cases.
What happened is that upon administering one prozac pill for three consecutive days, I felt dizziness and unwellness so I quit it and informed her of that. She got annoyed but could not argue with me further due to my life long experience with anti depressants. After quitting the med and keeping my old treatment, I was no longer the same person. It seems that prozac and zoloft should not be given together as they create a dangerous build up of serotonin or what is generally known as serotonin syndrome. I had never had hypertension in my life! Yesterday, I could barely walk feeling dizzy confused inarticulate and checked my blood pressure to find that it is 14/9 while it was always 10/7 or 11/7.
Today, I am not well and feeling dizzy since it is said that it takes time for prozac to leave your system. I stopped all meds to decrease the serotonin level in my body.
Never been like that in my life. She almost killed me if I weren't a bit knowledgeable about meds....
