Just... Trying to vent

I'm having trouble dealing with most of the things in my life. Since I was 12 I started noticing I get easily overstimulated specially by sounds and crowds. I tend to have tunnel vision which makes completing different tasks a horrible nightmare. Now I finally have to choose a career and actually learn how to drive, the mere thought has me almost on tears but the mere idea of not doing so has me full of anxiety. My family constantly says I'm overdramatic and to finally take the rains, I don't know how to explain to them how all of it has me almost puking my guts out and with horrible migraines because they always brush it off. I must admit I probably haven't tried as hard as I can to explain to them, but half of the time I end up feeling ashamed and as a burden specially considering I have a pretty decent life

Hello Clouded, my granddaughter has similar issues and has from childhood. For her it's a sensory/motor issue and she is on the autism spectrum. She is now old enough to drive and started driver education but refuses to finish it and get her license. My daughter is a teacher and has been very sympathetic and supportive of her which it sounds like is unfortunately not your situation. My daughter took my granddaughter when she was younger to a therapist that treated the sensory issue which helped her. You might get some testing done for autism which might explain your condition and enable your parents to see and understand it as a legitimate condition.
