Has anyone tried EMDR to help trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD? If so, how was your experience? I'm meeting with an EMDR therapist next week.

EMDR Therapy
No experience from me, but have heard about it from my mom who went through it. She found it very helpful. She even passed on exercises to me. It involves alternately putting weight on both sides of the body (for example, pressing down with one foot and then alternating with the other). She told me that this awakens both parts brain hemispheres and gets them communicating with each other.I wish you luck and hope you find it helpful!
I’ve had it and it has been very helpful! It can be an emotional experience but that means it’s working.
Yes, I tried this technique a few years back and it worked well for me.Basically, EMDR treatment is focusing on treating trauma and other symptoms by reconnecting the traumatized person in a safe and balanced way to images, thoughts, emotions, and physical emotions associated with trauma, as well as allowing natural healing powers & the mind to move on to the dynamicsEMDR is considered a safe treatment with very few side effects. However, because this process requires remembering a disturbing moment in time, it can result in patients expressing those memories.
