I'm feeling a bit low this morning. But animals are supposed to be therapeutic, so let's have some fun with this question.
I'm a dog person hands down. Dogs have a way of bringing people together and out of their shell. My dog needs walks, so it forces me to go outside and get fresh air even on a day like today when I want to stay in bed. It's funny how much my dog loves walks, even though he acts out every time we see another dog.

Dog, dog, dog all the way. Cats can be fun but very mischievous. My dog is very loyal. ❤❤❤
Mini Schnauser. She had been sick and I made sure she got the care she needed. She's going to be alright. She is 9 1/2 and is my life. A friend on here has been following/messenging me thru this ordeal. Bless her heart.❤❤❤
Aww, I'll be hoping that she gets well soon. It's tough to see the ones that need us so much be so sick.
Mini-schnauzers are adorable. There is one at the dog park I go to. He's such an alpha. It's weird, the minute he walks in, all the dogs seem to follow him, even mine. He exudes this confidence that I haven't seen in other dogs, the way he holds his head up. But he's not a mean dog at all, and not even the biggest. Although a dog did try to challenge him, and he had such a commanding bark and scowl. It was pretty amazing.
Lol. I had a Chihuahua like that. He did not like men in my apartment and would get in full on guard dog mode when the maintenance man would come. I remember the 250-some pound maintenance man sidling against the wall. I told him my 7 pound Pepper wouldn't bite, but he didn't seem to believe me.
I had a cat when I was a little girl. I'm allergic to them now. I remember how much I loved to pet her and sprinkle her with confetti like snow. I didn't know this until recently, but my dad told me the cat would lash out at adults and was actually only nice to me. Which is incredible considering that I must have been a lot more annoying than an adult.
I’ve got 2 ……but I just know they only tolerate me because I feed them ….if they get hungry their eyes go slanty and they start scratching me ….just hope they die before me
I love watching golden retrievers swim. They are so graceful in the water compared to other dogs. I love swimming so I can totally relate to their love of water.
I have two dogs and they are my world, but my depression stops me from walking them. I need to get out and walk them. I know it is therapeutic, but it's just so hard to do
Two dogs are difficult to walk sometimes too. Maybe just take one dog out for a couple of minutes. If that becomes too much, just forgive yourself, and trying again tomorrow, then the day after, and the day after that. It's all about taking baby steps.
Gerbils are fun too, not hamsters. Hamsters are more for cat lovers. Maybe you can start with a gerbil. I had a gerbil, and he favored certain family members. He would greet us at the glass when we came home. They are really sweet.
My favorite saying is "the pathway to G.O.D. is through D.O.G." Dogs and cats, but I prefer dogs, teach us and give us unconditional love which is what we are all seeking and long for. They are especially helpful for those of us who have suffered trauma or childhood emotional neglect and never had unconditional love or support. My dogs have made me a much better human being and opened my heart. I have had Weimaraners and Vizslas, I don't hunt but love the breeds, very smart and willful, full of lots of personality and energy.
