Crawling down the rabbit hole...

Thanks for the suggestions.

I can't seem to get past 40 years of PTSD, regardless of my efforts or expense. I really need a new shrink but can't afford any, Including the web based. Been unemployed since covid started. Can't find a job or build my business back up.

I don't have a clue for current marketing. tried writing a book, can't get traction. Am currently trying to start a direct to market T-shirt mug etc business. Probably also a waste of time. Yes I am a complete defeatist, but that is part of the PTSD I can't get past.

We live in a time where GREED has taken over everything from common sense to health care. Its truly pathetic. Makes me embarrassed to be an American. And more depressed.

Your health care is important...I know it is bleak :(

When you say "shrink" are you looking for a doctor or a therapist? I recommend the latter and they are cheaper. Most of them do not work with insurance and many work on a sliding scale. When I was broke one charged me like 10 dollars. To get that you need to call local therapists and ask for references if they are not available. If you have been unemployed that long aren't you eligible for medicaid? Or some assistance. I am not familiar with all of it but I think that is what medicaid expansion was all about. In my state there is some mental health treatment that is health department sponsored. Maybe your state or city has something like that.

Try dialing 211. They have helped me find resources in the past. You can also Google 211 along with the name of the city where you live.

I liked your reference to Alice. 🐇

Shrinks don't help. You need a good trauma psychologist/therapist and to do EMDR.

I'm currently unemployed and am trying the print on demand thing. I've made a couple sales in the past year and finally realized that I'm not going to make much money doing that unless I have a YouTube channel or some other way to promote myself. I am finding out about virtual assistants and other remote freelancing jobs. I have a lot to learn! While you are looking for a new therapist, check out Therapy in a Nutshell on YouTube. While every video may not help, some of them might. She has been a help to me. Good luck! Oh, and by the way, the business you are trying to start isn't a waste of time if it's something you enjoy because it's giving you something to do and you are probably learning in the process.

If you are healthy enough for these 2 , they help me a lot . 45 minutes of daily cardio exercise to produce endorphins that battle your anxiety and depression. I take my medicine. And I take a cold 5-10 minute shower twice a day. Google cold shower therapy for mental health. It releases chemicals in our body we need. And releases ones we store too much of . 65 degrees is a good temperature it doesn’t have to be ice cold. 60-65 degrees. You can check it with a cooking thermometer and pan .. I know it sounds bizarre but it’s like the people taking the sauna and jumping in the cold lake or snow . Been around along time

I went to a job seekers group at a church by me. It was a great place to network and encourage each others ideas. The encouragement alone was worth it - to keep going in trying to find a livelihood. Lots of good ideas too. We prayed as a group too - over every person's needs and job needs. A group like that could help you too.
