I don't know what just happened to me. It was nothing like most anxiety I've experienced.
I was sat on my sofa, enjoying a film. Out of nowhere, I had this huge head rush feeling and a massive burst of anxiety. It lasted about a second. My neck tingled, my head felt like it lost its balance.
Normally I would say that this is just classic anxiety or a panic attack, but it lasted for a second or two. I obviously had the after anxiety but in the moment that it happened, it was like being hit by a truck.
I'm freaking out, because I have a fear of epilepsy and from stuff I've read this sounds like a simple partial aware seizure. I literally felt fine before this happened.

I had two seizures as a child, it was ruled as just seizures and not epilepsy. It doesn't run in my family. I've raised my concerns with a doctor a few weeks ago who is referring me back to neurology. I am petrified of epilepsy and it consumes my mind most of the time. I don't know sometimes if my symptoms are psychosomatic or if I'm so tuned in to what the symptoms are that anything that happens to my body I attribute to epilepsy.
I went through the whole process a year ago and it was decided that I do not have epilepsy. Unfortunately there isn't a test that says yes or no. Its mostly based on an EEG, MRI scan and your symptoms. Mine was labelled as anxiety but it's entirely possible for a misdiagnosis to occur between anxiety and epilepsy, it's quite common.
I know exactly what you’re talking about. That is the kind of thing that used to happen to me all the time. I would be completely okay one second and then have the most intense head rush of my life, speeding heart out of nowhere, tingles, confusion, the works. I wish I could give you a straight answer, as this is the stuff that makes me fear I also have epilepsy. It doesn’t run in my family, but my mom has severe epilepsy with grand mals and I had one when I was nine. Never again though and I’m 30 now.
Several specialists have also told me they don’t believe I have it and that I need a really good therapist lol and I’ve had so so so many tests.
What I do know for sure is when my anxiety levels started to go down, these attacks also lessened. And now, I haven’t had one of those crazy head rushes in over a year. Maybe even two at this point. Other things happen, but not so much that anymore.
It might be the same for you. I would definitely tell your doctor about it and explain why you think it could be epilepsy, but also know that anxiety can sometimes stop giving you certain symptoms and then show up full force as another symptom. It’s a frustrating road but don’t give up and keep us posted!
Hello! I was wondering if you could explain what epilepsy is?I have episodes where I disassociate from reality(this is when I am anxious) But during that time I keep getting weird feelings in the frontal part of my brain. Kind of like a migraine? been having one all day today and I know its because I went to a social event and was on guard.
I have had this exact thing. I suppose it’s a mild panic attack. But have had it many times throughout my life. It freaks me out, but for me it’s harmless,
You definitely need to discuss this with your doctor. No one else can diagnose even if they think they're being helpful. This is a medical problem that could be dangerous if you drive. So get it addressed as soon as possible. (Retired RN)
Of course go to the Dr to be safe. It’s sounds like a panic attack to me. They can start just like that. Then it continues as your anxiety goes up about all the things you start thinking it might be. Also sounds like you’ve got some health anxiety going on. That’s just my take on it. I’ve heard people describe their very first panic attack feeling just like that.
Could have been a common panic attack. My experience and from what have read is that they get more intense over time until we have dealt with the underlying emotions/trauma that are causing them in the first place and learn to accept the anxious thoughts and feelings. Also check out your hormones, thyroid and adrenals to make sure they are functioning well, they can cause or contribute to anxiety/depression if not.
