Toxic work environment

I have been in the same job for many years. I have managed my anxiety pretty well for the most part of it. However over the last 5 years things changed alot at work. The management became toxic and so have my coworkers. I gradually began to realize my anxiety was increasing and even my time off was spend dealing with my thoughts and feelings. Fast forward to today and I am feeling some of the worst anxiety I have ever felt. I have a therapist, doctor, family and some friends who all agree I have to make a change. I even might just resign. The anxiety exists for a reason and it is telling me something is not right. I guess I just worry about the next chapter. However the idea of quitting really feels good and gives me some sense of calm. I have been interviewing and it will happen just not right away. I also have the option of moving away to another state where I have a home.

I would advise you to get out, not happy then don't stay.Moving State may not be such a bad move either, once you weigh it up, these are just my thoughts.

Please try to have another job lined up before you leave the toxic one, It can be emotionally draining and demotivating if you are without work for awhile.

I have done this for years and it has been so bad for my mental health. I have the resources to probably take 1-2 years without any financial issues. However I don't like to just quit without have another job.

Just remember where ever you do go, there you are.

If you can afford to leave I would. It would give you some breathing room and well… I recommend everyone take extended time off if they can. I usually paint a room. a new coat of paint is like a fresh start. 😂if you look now you are doing it under duress and you have to deal with explaining your time off to interview. The market is in your favor.
