Hi I’m new here. I live in Scotland near Edinburgh. I am happy to have found this site and hopefully find lots of friends. I have lots of health issues but thankfully nothing serious. RLS, chronic cough, acid reflux, depression and anxiety etc, I have had this very annoying cough for over 29 years and am still searching for a cure. I have had every test, medication available but nothing helps. Doctors seem to have run out of ideas as to what causes it. It starts with a tickle in the right hand side of my throat, bringing on a cough and producing lots of thick phlegm. It’s very embarrassing and I hardly go out in public which makes me very depressed and anxious. My doctor reluctantly gives me prednisone steroids, which clear it up, but then it returns a few weeks later. Acid reflux has a lot to do with it, so I have to watch what I eat. Last year I underwent heart surgery when I totally lost my appetite and this resulted in my cough disappearing.

Hi I’m new here
Welcome to the site hun I hope someone will come along soon and be able to relate to your symptoms sending u some hugs xxx
Hi and Welcome!
Hi Hazelnut75, chronic coughs can be wearing for sure. It does sound like it comes fromAcid Reflux esp. if you eat cheese products which can produce more phlegm.
I notice it myself at times. No pain, just tickle in back of throat and cough.
I've known people who have thyroid nodules complain of coughing.
The thing is you have had the doctors address your issues and sometimes there just isn't
an answer.
I'm happy to Welcome you to this safe and caring support forum.
We are not doctors and can only share our own life experiences that may relate.
Stay well, stay safe and keep in touch. xx
