No one should give medical advice to any member on any HU community, let’s leave that to the medically qualified…..just saying!😀

medical Advice
Please think about your comment. What we choose to share about ourselves is private. Our decision.
I agree Don. None of us are medically qualified so always be guided by a medical expert.
Now now Twinkly there is no need for that.
My bad. I didn't know she shared this with the general forum. I like to protect my friends, and you are a very dear one. I overstepped. Forgive me.
💜💜
No, not needed. It's me.
Twinkly
Some people do know but I don't like it advertised.
Nothing_but_books knows that. We had talked about it once
❤️🐬
Thank you
Long time no see Don😳
I may not post very often now Arym, but I still read the posts now and again.😀
What a coincidence that two old friends should meet up here after so long 🥰
Could you take this one down also?
Thank you
I wanted to suggest that too but. 🤷♀️
Someone just brought it to my attention.
I missed it lol
❤️🐬
Well to me it was glaringly obvious but sometimes advice is better coming from someone better known. 🤷♀️👍👌
The list's getting pretty long. I need another sheet of paper. 😅
Great to see you back!
Agree 100 percent
God help us all if we only take medical advise from our Drs!I live in UK and the mental health care is practically useless. It is ok to express our feelings and experience with our situation and what helps us. Just because advise is given medical or otherwisre doesnt mean it has to be followed. I will continue to follow my gut and if i find or hear about something that can reduce the suffering of others here, i will continue to do so. Whether you agree or not, just saying!
We know who you a-are! ❤️❤️
Now look what you've done! 🤗🤗
Yeeeess ❤️😁🌟🎻♑
You're right, we can say what has worked for ourselves, but shouldn't be telling others what to do. What works for one may not work for another, plus there could be consequences following another's advice.
Hi Twinkly, at least you found a cheeky ghost. I couldn't find one, and I'm on something similar to you atm, my partner's still in hospital and I am not visiting him atm because of his awful attitude. I have just so much to do at home - all the secretarial stuff, which includes two legal affairs. The hospital are sending a company on Tuesday to clear the conservatory and clean it (Yay!), ready for him to come home sometime after that. So he's a bed-blocker at present and when he comes home, I think we're getting about double the care package, but that's nothing to do with me until it happens. I'm just doing all the things that need doing, including trying to get my car cleaned all over - a little bit at a time and, as the hospital is not supplying bedding, I've been preparing for the single bed as well. People keep ringing up and delaying me; I've also got an email I have to find answers to, so busy busy bee - am I a busy bee when I'm online? I think so, but feel guilty, as if he's here telling me to stop playing with my computer! At least the normal day to day stuff is down to about 10%. I keep thinking I want some ice cream. Think I'll finish off that banana.
I like your new name; it suits you really well, and it's so good to see you again. 😊😊
As a head and neck cancer patient my GP prescribed me doxycycline which is known to cause esophagitis. It did and it was awful. I was also prescribed amitriptyline for depression and insomnia when I am on Levothyroxine. A clash combo. Terrible insomnia. I've had to research and go to user reviews et al to find my best fits with no clash myself (E-Mycin and Mirtazapine). You're your own Dr often. I trust my peers over medics more often now.
I couldn’t agree more Don. I hope you’re well and take care my friend.
Absolutely right
No, noone should give medical advice but you can tell how you dealt with your depression and I mentioned changing medications but I did not say which ones as different medications work differently with each individual. I think depression is a chemical imbalance in your brain as I have had it and have no reason to as I have no problems like others have.
I wholeheartedly agree. The only one who should be giving out medical advice is the one who has our medical history, and that is our doctor(s). Unfortunately not all HU communities seem to care if medical advice is given, though. I was on one community several years ago where medical advice was commonplace (and the moderators did nothing to stop it). I've wanted to say something, but it's hard to argue with someone who either explicitly asks for advice, and/or appreciates it, and/or thanks the ones giving medical advice for saving their life. It's also hard to argue with someone who comes on and says "help! My doctor has no clue what they're doing!" and looks to others with the same syndrome for help.To be clear, I do definitely agree with you. I'm just playing devil's advocate.
