Hi Just curious and needed some advise . I am 49 and prob peri menopausal even though my lastest bloods showed normal but I know I am defo close to this
Had bloods done back in June last year and my vit d came up low 37
Dr gave me 25000iu for six weeks
One a week
Since then I stopped taking it as thought I must be ok but today dr called re my bloods and said my vit d is still low but higher than last year it is 56 now
I brought some vit d today 2000iu
Is this too high
Been suffering with anxiety and palps for a while do not sure if low vit d could be the cause . Would appreciate advice as I am a anxious person xxx
Same thing happened to me, my Vitamin D was below 50 on a blood test which is the lower limit for normal.
He told me to go to any chemist or even Poundland where you can get 60 x1000iu tablets for £1 or £1-50. This I did even though I get 400iu every day from a fish oil capsule. Next blood test 6 months later the figure had crept up but still below normal but last week's blood tests showed it was just into the normal zone.
As I get blood tests every 6 months I can monitor it but I will continue with my 1000iu + 400iu regime.
Your 2000iu tablets sounds o.k. but when you finish those ask your doctor what strength vitamin d you should take as an ongoing thing. Evidently we don't spend enough time in the Sun to generate vitamin d naturally and in the Summer we avoid it for fear of catching skin cancer.
Great thanx for replying as was feeling anxious esp with the palps and missed beats horrible stomach issues as wasn’t sure if all connected or my anxiety playing up x
For reassurance do see your doctor about the missed heart beats, it's important to do that, but if it's just ectopic beats they always say it is not harmful and no need for trestment. But a 24 hour ecg Holter is usual to rule out anything else. Nothing to be scared about, just looking after yourself.
Yes, two 200mg Magnesium Citrate tablets a day made a big difference to my morning anxiety and stopped the 24 hour a day missed beats. Good luck and no need to worry.
I never experienced bloating as a symptom of missed beats myself but we're all different in our make up and all things are possible where mind and body are concerned.
It was worrying until my doctor assured me they weren't serious and the only symptom was when I put my finger on my pulse and noticed the missed beats.
Yeah really not sure if due to my health anxiety . Remember few months back I got bad fast beats for weeks on end and went for ecg . This was in aug last year and though I had panic attack having ecg . results were fine . So weirdly enough my anxiety kinda got better but just recently I have been having the horrible beats . It’s like this lol —-beep beep beep beep then misses one then 4 beats again then missed beat . So like every 4 beats it’s misses but last night got none . Sooo odd

Tyson, do keep your doctor informed of this, why not try to get a telephone consultation with him or her today. I would still think these symptoms are anxiety driven but that's just my opinion and I'm not a doctor. I hope they recede soon.
Whether you would be better helped by an anti-depressant or an anti -anxiety medication (and which one would be best) is a decision for your doctor to make as I have no medical qualifications and little experience of medications.
