OMG 😱

I have had nightmares for long long time. Almost every day.

One of them is that my teeth fall out or that pieces of them came out of my mouth.

Then I wake up and it is a great relief to know that it was a dream.

Yesterday that nightmare came true.

I was toothbrushing when piece came out of my mouth.

Aaaaaaaaaaaa!

Horrible.

I would like that now this was a dream too.

The thing is that I have caries in that tooth and I have prolonged any appointment for many many reasons.

But I need to do it.

I would like that this was a dream.

I hope you can see the dentist soon! I have also been avoiding going to the dentist for a checkup. 😕 It’s not uncommon to have dreams like that about your teeth falling out. I know people who also have that sort of dreams although I have never had it myself.

I hear you!!! I lost a tooth last year. It already had a root canal and a crown but the tooth just cracked and the dentist said it couldn't be saved. I'd like to get a dental implant but that is VERY expensive!!!!! I'm trying to make more of an effort at brushing my teeth twice a day and flossing. And I won't drink soda pop very often anymore. I really miss my tooth!!!🙁

I think usually dreams about teeth falling out is about anxiety/stress!

Sounds like you have anxiety about a few things and maybe even about the dentist! You do need to go and get your oral health checked, you don’t want it to get any worse! Often we put things off as we work them up to be a big deal in our heads, but when we actually do it, it’s not as bad as we thought it would be!

Good luck!

I’ve had these kinds of dreams too! I know I do grind my teeth in my sleep though because I wake up my jaw is so sore! Well which tooth was it?

Since I don't know you, please assume I am trying to be helpful, even if what I am saying seems obvious. :)

Your dreams may be based on knowing you might have some dental problems. I don't know how afraid you are of dentists or whether money is an issue. Dentists usually have payments plans, (or a local dental sliding-scale clinic) if you have no dental insurance and there are also a number of dentists that will use anesthesia, so you can be asleep the whole time. Also, a number of licensed therapists do hypnosis for phobias, if that's why you haven't gone. Hypnosis by someone who is a licensed therapist and who experienced may be able to deal with any overwhelming fear you have.

You might also go with a friend. If you can, get a few recommendations from friends and family and call them, go on their websites and make sure they have newer digital equipment and CDC COVID-19 protocols in place to maintain everyone's safety.

What I am saying is that you must go to the dentist and there are many ways to do it. If you need help, ask a friend or family member to help you get started and take it one step at a time to figure it out.

Good luck!
