Bringing back a tradition

Excited this morning. My family is starting a new tradition in 2021. When my children were growing up we had dinner together as a family almost every night and a big dinner on Sunday. So we decided to bring back Sunday dinner as a family. With a few work schedule adjustments of course. Starting with today. We can't have Sunday dinner because one of them is working. So this week we're having dinner today. Chicken and biscuits because family is everything!

Good morning. This is really nice Mrs P. 🌺💜

What’s served with chicken and biscuits? I’m now hungry. 😂

We also make some mashed potatoes and a vegetable. I know that's two carbs but since the chicken is just chicken in gravy it's nice to have the potatoes too. Some of my family likes to put the chicken over mashed potatoes instead of biscuits. And I cheat a bit with the biscuits. I use a baking mix and make drop biscuits instead of rolling the dough out. Little shortcuts so I can spend more time with my family.

Mrspjs, A wonderful tradition to bring back. Microwaves and tv dinners did a lot

to discourage being together as a family. Sitting around a table and not in front of tv

is a long forgotten time for families.

I know your family are essential workers which can make it difficult at times but enjoy

the times you can together. It all starts with Family. :) xx

We had a wonderful time. Next week we can get together on Sunday. We are already trying to decide what to have and whether to have it here or at my son's house. Even had my son's puppy join us. It was important to me when they were growing up to have dinner together every night. Now I am happily suprised to learn it's important to them too.
