I'm on day 4 of 50mgs for anxiety and its been worse than ever - I had to ring 111 earlier as my heart was thumping away and the Dr thinks my dose may be too high, so she has told me to just take half tomorrow morning and see how I go. If I still feel like that after 25mgs I think I may stop it's awful

Hello

I’ve just started taking them- on my 4th day. I feel shocking. Can’t sleep properly, headaches, loss of appetite, feel very wobbly, very tired- just generally out of it.

I’ve had to take a day off work today because I just don’t feel able to go in. Going back tomorrow but still unsure if I going to be able to drive there. Hope I don’t have to deal with too many customers!

I’m persevering with them though because my anxiety and depression has become too much. I also suffer with fibromyalgia so it’s hopefully going to help me with that also.

GP said I possibly feel worse before I felt better- she wasn’t kidding!

I’ll keep you posted .

💙💛🧡

Yes I've read that most people will feel like this. I'm so sleepy to I've got Autistic daughter so sleeping is not really an option but I'm so tired. Hope you start to feel better soon

I’ve just had a conversation with my GP about the side effects I’m getting and basically it’s normal. Should pass in a couple of weeks.

My heart goes out to you though. I haven’t got children so I only really have myself to worry about. I think you’re doing a fantastic job looking after your daughter and yourself.

I hope you get some time to rest and sleep though. Sending gentle hugs.

🧡💙💜

I’ve just started taking 50mg a day, I’m on my 3rd day and I’ve been taking them in the evening and it’s currently 5:37am and I cannot sleep and I’ve been feeling strange.

Hello!! Yes I have been on sertraline for about 5 months now. I very slowly (like 12.5 mg increases over long periods of time) ramped up to my current 100 mg dose to try and reduce the side effect a bit. I am not sure if you are new to the medication or not, but for me the side effects were really bad when I first started taking it, and everytime I increased dose, but eventually toned down a lot. Since sertraline tended to make me really tired and kind of nauseous, at some point I started taking it at night before going to bed and that has helped me not feel the side effects during the day as much. But, I think the experience on sertraline (or probably any medication) is different for everyone

Hi I had a dry mouth for around 3 months but slowly reduced, I have been on them for almost a year, at first I had 50mg then increased to 100mg after a few weeks .

Recently I have notice my head feels foggy all the time, over the last two weeks I have started to reduce the amount to 75% must admit not sure if its all in the mind but starting to feel much better .

I been on sertraline for 4 years. Went through all those side effects at the beginning. I thought was just my own illness and medication not working. I keep on it increasing dose under my doctor supervision from 25 up to 100 until I slowly feel better again. Later went to reduce dose and now been in 25mg daily for more than a year. There are some side effects but I rather those than not functioning at all due the panic attacks, crying and insomnia and hopeless feeling I had with my illness.. I can have some normal life. Still loose myself on scary thoughts sometimes but I keep living best I can. I have physical side effects too. And other illness but as I said. I must function and live. Life still beautiful. I want I to enjoy life. I won’t my illness get in the way again. My illness is genetic. So I stuck. I best wishes. Sertraline has been the best option for me. Hope my comments help.

Hello

I was on Sertraline for two weeks since my psych strongly recommended it. But it made me extremely drowsy. I tried to be patient by thinking it may be just one of those initial reactions but I couldn't stand at. So I switched Sertraline to Prozac that I've been on it for more than a year.

I hope Sertraline will help you. Hugs
