Has anyone ever experienced feeling a LOT worse on sertraline? I'm off it almost 3 weeks and I feel like I'm feeling 100 times more myself than ever before... I was put on Prozac instead but that cannot have kicked in so fast as to that being the reason I feel less depressed.

Off sertraline
I'm currently on sertraline and the doc just talked to me about switching to prozac. I'm hesitant, as what I really want is to be off of all of it. Please keep us up to date on how it goes for you?
Sure will. I'm on 20mg daily the past 18 days and feeling very Zen(even if it is placebo effect thus far) will report back in a few weeks. I felt awful on all dosages of sertraline. Been on 50, 75, 100, 150 for various substantial amounts of time.
I've been on 50mg of sert since the end of January. At first I thought it was helping. Now it doesn't seem to be. Horrible mornings, better evenings (which is when I take it). Really wrestling with the switch to Prozac and VERY envious of your Zen moment.
Yes my mornings were horrific but evenings ok. Think I was happy and relieved the day was almost over. Speak to Dr? Maybe increase or switch... It's trial and error unfortunately. If ur dr suggested it maybe give it a go? Couldn't be worse than now and I wish someone had told me that!! 😗
Hi. Can I ask what time of day you were taking it? I’ve just posted about this drug so am really interested. I’m the other way around - mornings ok but I feel worse through the day and my anxiety is through the roof by late evening. I take mine first thing
I don't know about sertraline, but Prozac was the first antidepressant I was on and as far as I was concerned it was a miracle drug. It can take up to six weeks to kick in, but doesn't have to (I think it was about four weeks for me.) The only problem is that, like all antidepressants, it eventually stops working - according to my psychiatrist, your brain actually resets itself to allow for the extra medication and goes back to its "baseline." If you have insurance and can find the treatment near you, I recommend TMS therapy. mayoclinic.org/tests-proced... It worked wonderfully for me.
I didn't get on with it, I had a nerve constantly going under my eye and kept coughing. I came off it and they stopped on cetralpram now and much better.
Hi Kerry maid, I had the exact same thing happen to me . Sertraline seemed to help for first few months (although possibly a placebo affect). My anxiety got worse and worse so doctor prescribed a new antidepressant. I weened of sertraline over a month and I felt amazing. Once it was out of my system I felt sooo good. I'm now on escitalopram, been on it for a couple of weeks, don't feel great so I'm beginning to wonder wether I need anything at all. I'll stay on it and see what happens in a month or so but if there's no change may consider going off that too. Scared of falling into a deep depression again though if I'm not taking anything
Yes indeed... I’m 2 weeks off of it but right now I’m super anxious and feel depersonalize. I didn’t have anything like this before. Did you experience this? I’m just starting to worry.. ugh
