Happy Memories

So, I'm sitting here thinking how when I used to be in a really bad place, how hard it was to remember some of my good memories I've had in life. So I try to think of them more now so they stick with me longer. Anyway, one of my favorite ones was when I was a kid, riding my bike on the country roads, and there was a huge sunflower field, and I just remember how nice it was. And also another time was when I got to go to my best friend's family's farm. I'd help with the milking the cows, and I even got to drive this huge tractor while my friend's mom threw hay out for the cows. And we also used to climb up in the bean silos. It was great. I have alot of others ones, but childhood memories are where I'm at today πŸ˜ƒ anyone else want to share?

You have some wonderful memories and I hope you hang on to them forever!!! I wish I had some to share. It would have been fun to go explore those sunflowers!!!

in reply to Ladybug9

I just remember being in awe of how tall they were. It was crazy

in reply to Ladybug9

And you can't think of one?

in reply to Ladybug9

I'm sure you have at least one, Ladybug. Even if it was something small.πŸ™‚ Maybe how you felt opening a gift or being with family or being with a friend.

Oh yes of course I do! I was thinking childhood.. Silly me. When I had my first son, I was in labor for 36 hours and trust me, he was in no hurry to come out into the cold! When my youngest was born, he was in such a hurry, they had no time to give me anything and the nurse had to push him back in so the doctor had time to get to the hospital! And to this day, nothing has changed. My oldest is layed back and takes his time and my youngest takes after me and can't sit still! Some things never change!! LOL.. Those are my two best memories ever!!

Oh, that is so funny to read!πŸ˜‚

Thanks for sharing!

This is an awesome post, Ashley! I still remember my dog's reaction to me coming home from college for the first time. He was a big, strong yellow lab and I was pretty petite, so suffice it to say that he knocked me down he was so happy.

in reply to

That is awesome, dogs are amazing because they just love you so much!! Lol hopefully you didn't get hurt!

in reply to

No, I didn't. It was funny, though. He came running up to me with his tail going nuts.

Buddy (his name) and I were the best of friends. After I moved to college, my parents moved my bed to another room for some reason. My mom told me that Buddy would curl up where my bed used to be.

in reply to

Aww that is so sweet, he must have really loved you. I miss having a dog 🐢

in reply to

Yes, he did. We loved each other so much! We were lucky to have had Buddy with us for 15 years. What kind of dog did you have?

There is another memory of my brother's cat exploring my CPAP (breathing device used to treat sleep apnea). It was several years ago and I was over at him and his wife's house for a few days. I had gotten my CPAP all set up, when the cat came in and started pawing at it. When she wasn't pawing at it she would leer at it like it was offending her.

in reply to

Oh my gosh "leer at it like it was offending her" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that's great haha, I had a Rottweiler and Mastiffs. I love big dogs because of the being raised with them. Although I have had a couple pugs, and a Boston terrier too, oh and I almost forgot Brody, he was a mixed breed it was a Chihuahua mixed with some other tiny breed. I would also adopt all the strays, lol I drove my parents nuts growing up.. I would love to have a dog right now, but we're renting so the landlord isn't too keen on cats or dogs, and I get it. So we got the guinea pig 😁

in reply to

Yeah, can you imagine?! A poor, innocent CPAP? I mean, I had no clue what the machine did to her.πŸ˜‚ I don't know if you know anything about CPAPs, but they come in two parts - the machine itself and then a mask to wear. Don't get me started on how she reacted once I put the mask on... You would've thought I had turned into Darth Vader or the Sith guy from the earlier episodes.

Wow, you've had quite the number of dogs! "You drove your parents nuts growing up". No sh*t! (Meant in the kindest possible way, of courseπŸ€ͺ)

I love thinking about the times where my mom took us on vacations (even if I didn't appreciate it at the time). Traveling is one of my favorite things now and my mom made my childhood something special.

in reply to pinkpanda18

Agree!!! My mom always tried to make things memorable, sounds like your mom was pretty awesome growing up too. That is a great memory to have
