I’m struggling with some bad anxiety and panic attacks and it’s really hard to cope 😔. I’m unable to pay for therapy so I’m trying to find free support or techniques to help but nothing seems to be working and it’s scary.

I am so sorry that you are going through this.
Sometimes, nothing seems to be helping, as you said.
I hope that you can be gentle with yourself and “accept” this instead of fighting it to exhaustion.
Remember to BREATHE.
A Therapist once advised me to put sticky stars everywhere and every time I looked at one, to breathe deeply and mindfully focus on the moment.
Hello,
Im so sorry you are going through this. I struggle with anxiety and panic attacks too. I also stopped seeing my therapist because of covid. I have found multiple discussion groups and a couple of great people that I talk to every day. It really helps me to talk to people daily that are going through what I am going through and understand how it feels. I am free to talk anytime!!
Hi Coco11, I am so sorry you are going through this. Have you ever heard about EFT? There is also an App called The Tapping Solution which is really good. I have done it a few times and it really helps. EFT stands for emotional freedom technique. It’s a really good tool to use. Also meditation is good. There are a few free meditation apps as well. I sometimes listen to them before I go to bed. I hope you find something that helps.
Thank you! I do use a meditation app which helps me when I am unable to sleep. I will definitely try EFT! Thanks so much
I hope it will help you. It helps me when I have really bad anxiety and it calms me down almost immediately. Some herbal teas have a calming effect as well. Like lavender or camomile. 🥰
So sorry to hear that you are going through this. I've heard that increasing calming brain waves can be helpful.
Two strategies:
* Rub the palms of your hands together over and over again while thinking: Safe, hopeful, peaceful, calm
* Put each hand on the opposite shoulder and then rub your arms up and down over and over again while thinking: Safe, hopeful, peaceful, calm
Wishing you the best
Hi there! Hope you are well!
Do you have pets that could help you comfort? Anyone that's available to listen?
I could not afford therapy either as it's not an option with my current financial situation.
On a really bad days I just take a hot shower(it feels like warm hugs). Turn on some funny videos to watch or if I want I would listen to podcast for self-motivation at the same time.
Come chat with me whenever you like 💖
Hello! I do have friends for support and have some new techniques to try. And I’ve been trying to distract myself but it’s just really hard sometimes
When our minds is in chaos, trying to distract yourself is difficult. You tend to resist in some ways.
I know I did. I was frustrated with people telling me to vent on a journal. That was me resisting in the moment.
What really help me was to start moving, so I took a walk to the park(ugly crying on my way there just to relieves myself) and 2hours later came back to start writing. It help a bit even though I hate it.
Nowadays I just do a 1hour walk after work, anywhere really. No destination in mind unless you have a specific spot you really love.
Do you have hobbies that you really love doing? Scrapbooking? Arts?
Many communities have some sort of support groups. Some are free you cam google your city. Also meetup have support groups
Hi Coco11_
Have you ever read Claire Weekes books? For me these together with exercise have been the biggest help.
And, knowing that nothing lasts forever, not the good times and not the bad times.
Wishing you the best x
It’s definitely a terrifying, helpless feeling! I wish nobody had to suffer like that. Having an activity that is grounding for you can be helpful. Something that isn’t really hard to do and kind of mindless but you still have to kind of pay attention. For me, it used to be drawing or crocheting. Sometimes all it takes to ring up a friend! Or text (I loathe phone calls). There’s some online platforms where you can chat with others as well such as mellow talk. But they’re not consistently available.
