I have had fever for almost 5 weeks now with occasional IBS. All tests have come back normal. Did anyone experience this?

What tests have come back negative ? Do you have Diverticular disease? Could it have been Diverticulitis?

How can anyone be left with a fever for over 4 weeks and not be treated?

What was your temperature?

What is it now?

What antibiotics have you had?

I have had antibiotics but no cure. I was tested for blood count, platelets, kidney, liver, thyroid, chest x-ray. GP mentioned it could be viral but I think it could be stress/depression etc. I have not heard about Diverticulitis. I will Google now.

Thanks

Just googled the Diverticulitis and it could be but GP hasn't recommended the test/scan etc. But my blood was checked for any underlying inflammation which came back normal. I usually have enough fibre and workout 6 days a week. I am going through stress though!

What is your temperature now

I am always between 97 and 99 which is hot for me. I am normally 96. During peak of my symptoms my temperature went to 101. The strange part is sometimes only my palms and feet are on fire and rest of the body is normal. I don't know what's going on inside.

Temperature :

98.4 to 98.6 is normal

99 is slightly raised.

When it peaked at 101 that was a fever but how long was it this high for? What do you mean by " no cure".

Is it 101 now ? If it is then I would phone the doctor. You might need a different antibiotic.

You didn't say which antibiotic you had.

How do you know about Diverticulitis? Thank you for suggesting. I can try mentioning this to my GP.

What do you mean by "occassional IBS" ?

Has a doctor told you that you have IBS?

Have you ever been refered to a Colorectal Specialist or a Gastroenterologist?

Have you ever had a Barium Enema?

ALSO:

Does anyone in your family have a Thyroid problem? Anyone on Levothyroxine tablets?

You say you have had Thyroid blood tests - do you have the results.

Look on the Thyroid UK website and search 'symptoms of Underactive Thyroid ' on there. See how many you have. Make a list and show to doctor and ask for Thyroid Antibodies blood tests (TPO and TgAb). Say you would like to eliminate Thyroiditis.

Isn't a temperature of 96 low?

Low temperature is a symptom of Hypothyroidism.

Hashimoto's Autoimmune Thyroiditis is the main cause of Hypothyroidism.

You have not said what your temperature is now.
