These migraines are called vestibular migraine. This isn’t a traditional migraine it’s nervous system problem that causes repeated dizziness or vertigo. They don’t always cause head pain if they do it’s at the base of neck/skull behind the ear.

I had these when I was withdrawing off trazodone, no idea why but I attributed it to severe insomnia I experienced for months during the withdrawal phase. I had the head pain with mine.

That said, Its possible your medication could be causing low blood pressure. Low blood pressure could cause you to feel faint, especially when getting up from a lying or sitting position. But dizziness/vertigo alone can make you feel constantly faint as well.

You should talk to your doctor regarding the severe side effects you are having, could your meds, maybe it’s not the right choice, maybe you need a dose adjustment or a different kind of med. in any regard I’d call them to discuss.

I abruptly stopped pregablin 200 mg day after 8 months and 2 weeks later the vertigo started and hasn't gone iv had about 17 episodes in the last few months and it scares me to death I was under a lot of stress ent prescribed noratripline to increase by ten mg each month so I'm ready to go up to 20 but I'm scared what helped you and thanks for the help

I had severe and I mean severe dizziness coming off my med (major symptom of my withdrawal) could be that as well. I’m not a doctor or remotely qualified to answer what’s the root cause, but I’d def talk to your doctor about all of this. A weaning/taper plan is something your doctor should have considered.

It took me using NSAIDs and time. I wasn’t relieved of my dizziness fully for about 3-4 months. Keep in mind I do take any meds (after trazodone or now) other than the occasional med to help me sleep. So sorry your’re suffering with this, I understand how scary this is.

I've been 6 months like this how how long has it took to stop the withdrawal I had body aches and ear ringing it's the worse thing iv had in my life I get neck and shoulder pain it has been ruining my life iv had to stay with my parents because my balance completely goes how did you cope

I had the same, I was pretty sick for quite a while, I had the ringing in the ears lasted 6 months or more, I wasn’t complexly free of withdrawal for up to 4 months. I had Dizziness and off balance as well as exercise intolerance... I was a mess coming off my med.

I’m throwing this out there for consideration, maybe your meds are exerbating your issues, if your not sleeping well, eating well, etc. So much can have a compounding effect... I just don’t have the answers but I know how desperate it is to find them. I wound up in the ER with dizziness/migraine/withdrawal, talked to three different doctors (neurologist, ENT, Doctor of Internal Medicine) and they all dismissed my med caused withdrawals, but I knew better.

Did you have spinning with the fainting that's what I get then a panic attack I'm that scared and loss of balance since the noratripline I've gone 2 weeks without spinning until yesterday night when it was back it's nice to be able to talk to someone who understands 😁

Trust me, I get exactly what your feeling and going through.

My off balance, spinning, orthostatic hypotension etc. my spinning was in my head, not from the outside. Hard to explain if that doesn’t make since.

I had anxiety attacks, but severe sleep deprivation during my withdrawals I attributed to many things I was suffering in excess. The dizziness/vertigo, ringing in ears were true neurological symptoms of what I called my brain and central nervous system getting back in balance. I never want to be on meds again honestly. Side effects, coming off them when they stop working due tolerance, etc isn’t something I want to go through again.

I presume the reason for the noratripline is for anxiety/panic attacks that’s why they put you on it not from withdraw itself.

Keep in close contact with your doctor, I did not have one help me through anything I was going through sadly.

Omg that's awful u must be such a strong person I suffer with anxiety and panic iv had it years that's why I tried pregablin to see if they would help and now I'm worse then before I just keep trying to stay positive and hope one day it will stop

I’m not that strong, my sleep never returned. Actually I’ve lost ability to sleep like a normal healthy sleeper, even 8-9 months later. That med messed me up pretty badly. I lost confidence in pharmaceuticals, I actually acquired pill anxiety, hard for me to even take a pill for anything these days. Hate admitting that. 😥😥

Adding having a great attitude, staying positive is the way through.

You have a doctor listening to you, I consider that a very lucky.

I’m in the US.

I had an MRI approved and scheduled.. I had a really claustrophobic experience the last time I had an MRI and couldn’t justify putting my self through that again even with enough Ativan to sedate me. .but I knew a scan wasn’t going to reveal anything I didn’t already know.

Keep listening to the doc, sounds like he/she is dialing into the root cause of yours.

As for my sleep, I’ve done CBT, sleep studies, etc. I adopted a circadian rhythm issue with sleep wake disorder. No doctor where I live has been able to help with that at all.

So sorry your partner gave up on you, sounds like a light weight. When the going gets tough, leave. I don’t think so...you deserve much better than that.

Yes I do hope I get better he's not worth it iv come to realise I struggle going out with panics so when I went ent I was trembling like mad not been out to hospital in years so god no how I will go with scan lol guess I will have to be brave I did CBT online called the silver cloud program it didn't help much but was ok

in reply to Twisler69

I had no idea I would be claustrophobic, I’m not normally like that. They put me in the smallest MRI machine because I’m a small person...the staff, the technicians there had terrible bed side manners. I was traumatized... I don’t think you’ll have the same experience.

You are stronger than you think, your attitude towards what you’re experiencing tells a lot. I think you’re going to fine, with time and a good relationship with your doctor will prove successful.
