Does anyone else battle these?

uniquediamond profile image

So the last month I’ve noticed things. Please tell me if you battle the same issues.

1: sleepy (extra sleepy)

2: memory issues, forgetting a lot

3: tired all the time, a constant feeling of fatigue

4: way more anxious

5: not sleeping good

6: headaches

7: having issues driving long distance

8: racing thoughts

9: head pressure

10: body aches and pains

11: no energy

12: over thinking everything

13: ear pain

14: hard time focusing

15: sweating for no reason

16: heart racing at random times

17: loss of breath

18: super uncomfortable all the time

I’m not looking for medical advice, but I would like to know if anyone else is dealing with this and what you’ve done to feel better? If anything.

I check my sugar levels every other day and those have been normal thank goodness! I’ve lost a total of 36 pounds and started working out and going for walks, but since this hit I haven’t done anything at all! I’ve even gained weight 6 pounds :(

I’m gonna go see a doctor in a couple weeks. I don’t drink or do drugs. Of course I googled it and there was a list of things. Doctor google scares me! I don’t even know why I get on there... please help!

I have all the above to and ear infection it’s all down to stress and anxiety over think things

I always catch myself thinking, can depression and anxiety really do all this 😞

Yes. Depression affects every part of your body.

Thank you! It’s crazy to think it can do all that and more

They could mean anything including depression. I had stress at the beginning of the moth that caused ear pain and many others on your list. I get that on rare occasions but this time it was two weeks. Turned out it was Bell’s palsy which is rare. right side of my face is paralyzed now. In general stress and depression will cause those for me but it could be anything.

I’m so sorry!! 😢 thank you for taking the time and responding! I really hope you feel better!

Yes I have all those symptoms too

Have you found anything that kinda helps mask them even a little?

Have ear pain from TMJ, always had GAD, haven’t slept normally for years, but the rest came and stayed when I got COVID. All I have been able to do for symptoms is learning how to roll with it. Realize my limitations and not overdo it. I really feel for people that have to maintain a normal life when they are experiencing what I do. Not saying you’re experiencing COVID symptoms, just relating....I could spend a lot of time explaining how I manage , but if you would like to chat, feel free to pm...❤️🏄‍♀️

I am so sorry your battling COVID! I was super scared about that also! I’ve been battling for 13 plus years, but I’ve noticed some new symptoms the last month or so. I really hope your feeling better? I pray for a very fast recovery! Hugs

uniquediamond in reply to Xoxo33

Walks do help! I’m glad you still try to live a somewhat normal life! I need to focus on that as well! Thank you for sharing

I have literally spent the last few months going back to my GP for test after test due to having similar symptoms to the above!

I have never suffered from anxiety before, in fact, I have never had any health problems before so this has really worried me.

GP cannot find any physical causes, keeps insisting it's stress but I don't feel like my life has been that much more stressful, I prefer working from home 😐 the only thing that has been different is as most people, I have been stuck inside a lot. But my health seems to be going downhill for no reason.

It’s crazy huh? 5 or 6 years ago I was battling with about half of these symptoms, went into the doctor he ordered every test and also did a CT scan also and didn’t find anything that sparked any attention. Then fast travel to today and I’m having everything I listed above!! Could stress, depression, anxiety etc cause all this. “Yes” from more reading that I’m doing. But still... my mind is going crazy thinking about it, which I’m sure doesn’t help!

Have you started any medication yet ? That should be helping , I had all this and on meds now and feeling much better . Also I found out I have hypothyroidism which can cause similar symptoms. Tell you DR everything . You will be ok just keep trying to stay positive and do deep breathing when you start to feel the anxiety . The walking and exercising will help to especially with depression

Thank you for sharing! I did have my thyroid checked years ago! Maybe that’s something I’ll have them re-check. I thought I would feel better with my weight loss, but again I kinda fell back because of the new stuff I’m battling. I will definitely be speaking with my doctor about all of this

Yes almost all of them but I do have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia too

uniquediamond profile image
uniquediamond in reply to

I’ll have to do some research on that! Thank you for sharing

I have the majority of these symptoms as well, but I will let you know the ones I do NOT have: headaches (although I do get uncomfortable head tension), and ear pain. Everything else seems like depression or anxiety symptoms, which suck, but at least there’s a reason for them.

Thank you for sharing! I’m reading a lot about this to find some kind of peace! I don’t like this feeling at all! I’m so tired of being tired, you know?

Me too. Sometimes I’ll just get these rushes of exhaustion straight to my head and I need to stop and breathe so I can keep going. And my stomach usually feels kind of off too, so even when I do exercise, that can then upset my stomach. I’m hoping that when my depression lifts, the physicality of it will go too. I don’t know what else to do in the meantime for it.

I’m so sorry! Having tummy issues that follow are hard! I guess all we can do is keep going and try not to think about it, even tho that’s the hard part for me

I don't get headaches or earaches but most of the rest of them. I think anxiety/depression causes them.

Thank you for sharing! Is there anything your doing that helps take the edge off?

Walking

Are you on any type of diet? Have your potassium checked. Im having some of the same symptoms and turns out my potassium is low. But I'm also on keto and have lost about 70lbs.

Thank you so much for sharing! I’m definitely going to bring that up when I see my doctor! I also read it could be vitamin deficiency also

🥰

I have the same symptoms all the time currently waiting for audiology test just to see if I have Ménière’s disease which can cause all of these symptoms just like fibromyalgia can

Thank you! I’m going to check that out!

Thank you for sharing! Is the loosing weight due to the medication your on? Or do you not have an appetite?

i have number 1 3 5 and 13 but i have1 and 3 cause i have rls

Thank you for the comment! I’m so sorry!

What are you doing to help minimise your symptoms?

well i have to have to take antidepressents but i dont take cause it messes up my sleep cycle and well i make sure i am always doing somthing so it redues to time i have to think and get anxous and sorry i have bad spelling

No worries at all! And your spelling is fine! That’s what I’m trying to do, is think of other things also! But sometimes when I’m thinking so hard not to have those thought they keep coming! It’s a cycle of overthinking

i am sorry i know what works for me does work for others but i just sort of justlike to read or just do breathing stuiff like breath in count to five then spell relax exhaling slowly it helps for me

Good idea! I never thought about spelling “relax” thank you so much for sharing that

anytime that is like one of the only things i lerned from consouling

hungryorca98 profile image
hungryorca98 in reply to

in reply to hungryorca98

I have a bunch of things that could help. Would you like them?

hungryorca98 profile image
hungryorca98 in reply to

sure i would like the help

in reply to hungryorca98

Ok, I'm going yo try to send you a pm. I'm having trouble with not everyone getting them, so can you let me know if you get it?I really want to help, but I don't want to take over this post. RLS is Hell on Earth.

in reply to hungryorca98

Hi, okay here goes! This is my list of non-medical things. You say you heard about the medication doing this to you? This is called Augmentation and is when the medication stops working and worsens the condition. This happened to me around 2015 and was HELL. I discovered these things after it was over. I don't think any of these would've worked during it, since Augmentation is relentless. I'm assuming you have a Neurologist? Uf so, please talk to them.

-magesium tablet

-Magnesium oil (can be itchy, but that is a sign that the Magnesium being absorbed)

-soaking in Epsom salts (same problem with itchiness; I read that the max. time to soak is 12 minutes because of this)

-weighted blanket (or any sort of weight applied to the legs)

-lidocaine pain relief (I found this helpful at desensitizes the nerves)

-Freeze gel (not recommended by me because, while it helps calm the movements, it freezes the rest of the body)

-motorized foot bath (this has helped, but it has also provoked a worsened attack)

-electric massage (same thing as with the foot bath)

-massage ball

-hand massage (HARD)

-compression stockings (the tightness helps calm my movements)

-hot tub or jet sprayer nozzle on showerhead (if the latter, put it directly against the legs and go over every inch)

-Relaxing Leg Cream (good at calming the movements-- can be gotten from Amazon or Walgreens if in the States)

I hope this helps. If you are indeed Augmenting please hang in there. My Augmentation went on for 7 months and almost killed me (my choice). But I survived. You will too.

Please see your doctor for a professional assessment. I am not on the RLS site anymore because I couldn't stand their attitude. Medical advice is given there like it's going out of style.

in reply to hungryorca98

Sure thing👍I forgot to mention: please, please, please, PLEASE do not take what those on the RLS community say as the ultimate truth. It is their opinion, but they will make you think it is the only truth. I never knew there could be so many doctors on a site before (sarcasm). It was most inappropriate (not to mention very dangerous).

Please take care of yourself😊

Hahaha! That was a good one!

I have most maybe all possibly additional symptoms pre covid as well and chronic high anxiety levels with deep depression and emotional sadness. I take a lot of medicines. I walk my dog 3 times a day if well enough. He’s a senior dog with some medical issues as well. It’s good you exercise. I wish I could heal myself and see others feel better to. My depression is very debilitating and I feel bad about 90% times.

uniquediamond profile image
uniquediamond in reply to

Thank you for sharing! I’m sorry that your battling this! I’m glad that your taking steps though, walking your dog is something you both need! I try and take mine to the park and allow them to run around and also it does help me for that split second.

in reply to uniquediamond

What breed of dog(s) do you have? I have a senior Yorkie terrier cross that is now more energetic since being on a prescription diet. Being that he is senior I worry about his health. I try to keep my own mental health in check but around so many people who are down that it’s hard to keep on an even keel. I hope you are doing well.

It’s great you’re going to rule out any medical issues. One of the problems with depression is How do you tell if you’re sick or depressed. I’m not sure your age but it could be hormonal, ie PMDD. Just be good to yourself and keep a diary of how you feel. The book Letting Go by Dr. David Hawkins may help- focuses on how our emotions/concept of ourselves can affect our health. Hang in there.

Thank you so much for your comment! I really do appreciate it! I’m 37 years old

Oh definitely sometimes I distract myself do something that makes me calm take deep breath’s positive self talk
