I was told recently I have a "pain body" and should get special counseling to cure it. I have never heard this term and wonder if anyone here has. I don't think it would be good for me to stop my medication and leave my therapist as recommended. But I am willing to try something new if it will help.

Pain body?
New to me. So I looked it up.
look up Eckhart Tolle “A New Earth – Awakening to your Life’s Purpose” and he has a couple more. He’s a spiritual teacher/coach in which this is another way to look at mindfulness, acceptance, harnessing your own power, etc.
I copied this...“Pain Body” Definition”. You may haven been researching already...
“What is a pain body according to Eckhart Tolle? It is an energy field inside your body that is formed by negative thoughts and emotions that you are experiencing. The pain body is part of the Ego and is a very unhappy entity. Pain body can manifest itself as: illness, anger, stress, fear, sadness etc. Pain-body seeks unhappiness and unpleasant experiences that matches its energy field, because pain body feeds on negativity. Its very existence consists of this unhappy vibration and the pain-body doesn’t want an end to this unhappiness because this would mean an end to the pain-body.”
Anything to help you maneuver around and mange can be a added supplement, could you mention this to your therapist?
Hope this help a little. 🌻🌺😊
Thank you for looking it up. It helps a great deal. Already wrote it down in the notes I keep for my therapy appointments. It may sound silly but it helps me to have notes with me at therapy. That way I don't forget something.
I’m a notorious note taker.
I log my sleep every morning in a CBT app, make notes on feelings, anxiety, etc and share with my doctor.
I will forget or run days together trying us my memory. 😂
I never know how I will feel on appointment day so I do the same. Most of the time I don't need it but sometimes I do. Was just thinking how ironic it is that the person who told me I have a pain body is someone I try to avoid. They make me very uncomfortable with their negativity. But that doesn't mean I will rule out the possibility. Always good to learn something new.
regarding the pain body phrase, it references the pain that is physically held within the cells of your body. It is very real and can be helped but it’s a slow process and sorry to say, painful. I’ve been working on it since 2006. As painful as the process is, the freedom from a lifetime of pain is almost euphoric at times.
I have been working on it through specific meditations from the Unity church and a phone app. Looking into hypnosis as another option. My concern was being told to go off all my medications and stop seeing my therapist and psychiatrist. It has taken me a long time to find the right therapist and doctor as well as finding the right medications and coping tools for my anxiety and depression. I am beginning to notice an improvement in my pain since I started the meditations. Especially helpful now since I went to the Emergency Room over the weekend with chest pain. Turned out to be non cardiac chest wall pain due to inflamation. Always willing to learn and try new things so I will continue to pursue this. Thank you so much for your reply. The term makes more sense everytime I get new information. I wish you all the best on your journey with your pain body.
