Hello everyone,

I am 43 yrs old.

Where to start, suffered a huge nervous and anxiery breakdown almost 11 years back..

Was a smoker.. Stopped 5 yrs back. Have hypothyroidism.

Now got L4 L5 and L5-S1 disc bulging 7 months back, and the conditions worsens sns got severe sciatica 2 months back.. In complete rest now..

Not able to drive even for a very short distance..

Now whole body is aching.. I dont know this is because of sciatica or anxiety..

If someone else is also suffering, please help me to come out of it.. Not takibg any medication for anxiety..

Test came back negative for rheumatoid arthritis..

Pls someone help..

My experiences is somatic pain is real with anxiety and so when I treated my anxiety my pain decreased. My pain was especially in my lower back my neck my head. I would think it would be worth ruling out especially in the pain that you're in.

I also began doing somatic stretches from YouTube videos targeting those painful areas which also helped. Somatic stretches are gentle stretches for people who are in chronic pain that retrain the nerves in the muscle and brain.

Welcome Ramesh-Krishnan to a safe and comforting site.

I can only imagine the pain you are in daily, both emotionally and

physically.

We are not doctors and can only relate to the anxiety portion of an

ailment. That being said, I consider any type of physical issue heightening

our awareness of anxiety.

Whenever we are in pain, frightened and feel we have no control, anxiety

makes it's appearance.

Working with your doctor for the physical part as well as working on your

emotional reaction to stress can help you feel more in control.

I happened to use Meditation on a daily basis which has helped me with

chronic pain issues. I will try to find something for you to watch on YouTube

regarding back pain and stress. I will get back to you with a suggestion.

I'm glad you are here with us. :) xx

I'm back Ramesh, There are many powerful videos on YouTube that can be used

in addition to medication and your doctor's advice.

These are but a few that I found related to your back issue. Please take the time

to listen to the words of these powerful videos. It's not just a one time remedy but

must be believed in as well as retraining your mind to the acceptance of pain.

"Powerful Lower Back Pain/Guided Meditation/Self Hypnosis" 1 hr

by Healing Mind Mark Bowden

"Guided Mindfulness Meditation on Coping with Pain" 20 min.

by Mindful Peace.

Breathe in calm and gently exhale the pain you feel. My best to you :) xx

L5S1 bulging when it pushes on my sciatic nerve I live on my floor. It sucks. Pain can cause anxiety. Now that you are forced to take some time think about how you want to spend your time. Allow your back to heal, don't push too fast. I have to lay flat so I suggest listening to books on tape, it's nice to have someone read you a story. You need to give your brain something do so you don't go bonkers. Maybe practice a foreign language. The problem with tv or a computer is the change of body position, craning your neck.... When you can try a bath with Epsom salts, use hot or cold whatever feels good, gentle stretching arms, hands....
