Odd job situation

I am in a job where I get paid really well but it is very mind numbing and my boss is an idiot.

I probably work less than 40 hours and good pay/benefits. I don’t feel like I could get the same kind of work/balance and pay in another position but it mentally drains me. I don’t feel like I deliver much but I am no risk of getting fired.

I also suffer from anxiety/depression which doesn’t make it easier to make a decision in what to do. Anxiety really impacts my decision making abilities.

Has anyone had a similar situation. I am sorry if this comes off as being well off but it does cause me a lot of pain.

I'd rather make money making a difference for people but if it's not illegal, nothing wrong with that. But having a purpose and helping mankind is priceless.

It is a for profit software company that I work for

Well if you don't enjoy it, maybe it's time for a change. There's nothing like making a living doing something you absolutely love. I do and I am so very grateful and I look forward to working every single day.

That is really great you have that! Very inspiring. I am just having a hard time deciding on what job would make me happy

It's a difficult decision. I just knew when I was 20 and now I'm doing the same work at 46. I'm in nursing. Try new things and see what you like.

Hi my last job was in a call centre which I hated with a passion, but it was very well paid. I stuck it for over 5 years as I had to get solvent again. I did but it caused devastation to my mental health. The jury is still out on whether it was worth it or not. x

I have been in a similar situation and after 6 months at the job I decided to leave. Less pay, work weekends and holidays, but it is mentally stimulating and I have a sense of purpose. Makes it easier to get out of bed and was very worth it for my mental health. I know it was the healthiest decision for me personally. Sending light and positive energy to help you with your decision. 🕯 🌼
