Give it a Try

You know everyone is different. What works for one person may not work for another. I tried TMS earlier this year and it didn’t work for me and I was so hopeful it would. Yet other people have benefited from it. I personally know people who did ECT and they did not have positive results but that was them. I don’t personally know anyone that it has worked for but there are people out there that it’s obviously worked for. Only you know you. Finish it out and see if it will benefit you or not. As I recall you will need maintenance ECT on a basis. I had a psychiatrist that did ECT and she was trying to talk me into ECT but she did that with all her patients. At the time, I did not think my depression warranted doing that procedure. I eventually recovered from my depression and had four years not taking medication till I had another major episode in my life and fell right back into a depressive state that has lasted two years. It was terrible with crying everyday and just never seeing an end to it. I recently asked for a change in my medication and things turned around for me. I’m myself again. So everyone is different

I spent a thousand pounds on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the Priory Centre 20 years ago and I couldn't understand a word of it. Maybe the therapist was incompetant. Others have had more positive experience

Jeff, that wasn't my thing either. We all march to a different

drummer. And that's okay :)

I tried TMS too. I think these can work but you have to put in the work as well. There’s no miracles. Besides TMS or ECT, try to get into a routine, keep busy, exercise, spend time with family and friends. Thanks for sharing!
