So who else's heart skips a beat that you feel, this happened after I drank a coke. Now I feel weird. What to do. Dont want to panic because I've felt it before.

Some people might react with cola drinks or other fizzy drinks. Even they may be labelled as sugar free they may contain sucralose which converts to sugar in the liver. The flavouring is made from the kola nut which some people might react to with nut allergy. The caffeine might react with drugs you are on affecting your heart beat. On the can label they don't tell you they contain citric acid and phosphoric acid which makes the fizz. Most people won't have any signs of hyperactivity or anxiety after having coca cola so if you think it is only connected with the drink then drink plenty of water or in sips to wash it out. Milk lines the stomach and can settle the acid in the stomach after the drink. Am sure if you divert your attention to some music or magazine you like and drink water or have a milky drink it may help the sugar rush and caffeine which might be affecting you .

Take care.

Hi Espinoza, as Birmanblue suggested, start drinking water to dilute the effects

of the caffeine. I know I've never been able to tolerate the fizzy drinks or caffeinated

beverages. It's going to be okay. xx

When I was a teen, I experienced the same thing. It was frightening and didn’t know what to do. Now that I’m older I know not to be worried about these little flutters. I was checked out by a cardiologist and was assured my heart was fine. These extra beats were harmless. Get a dr to check you over to make sure. But I’m sure the caffeine had something to do with it. Lots of people have these skipped beats, most times it’s nothing to worry about.

Thank you. And yes I've been checked out so many times even by a cardiologist and I'm happy to report that my heart is perfectly fine. I just wish I could stop drinking caffeine lol.

I had that start happening every time I had anything with caffeine in it, that is probably what caused your episode. It will eventually wear off but from here on I would avoid anything with caffeine. Since I cut out caffeine completely it hasn’t happened again.
