A little over a year ago I joined this group to be apart of something with those who had something in common. I never thought I would have grown so much within a year! I was on the verge of suicide and an extreme months long episode of depression due to being bipolar. However I then got myself back to a psychiatrist 6 months ago to get put on new medication which is now 200mg of Lamotrigine but have been uninsured for about 4 months. I had stopped taking the meds since the psychiatrist wouldn’t refill my prescription because I had no insurance. I had to bite the bullet because my moods were spiraling out of control and I needed to see If my primary doctor would prescribe me the same medicine if I just explained the situation. However because I still don’t have insurance I had to pay for the visit in full but she was extremely understanding about my situation and wrote me 6 months worth of refills! Woo hoo! I had to switch my pharmacy because CVS was going to charge me $160 for the prescription each time. I was able to find that Walmart would fill it for $8 without insurance. I have had to jump through some hoops to work my way around not having insurance. I see my therapist every other month and pay that out right as well. My mental health is extremely important and I know I always need go put it first! I cried when I read my post from last year and this support group was extremely helpful.
P.S. I got married to someone I met this year. She is my rock and she is extremely patient and understanding of me and my bad days.
Don’t ever give up. It always gets better 💙
