Getting nervous before seeing Transiberian orchestra with my family

Welp, that's me tonight. 2.5 hours or 150 minutes of listening to music. I'm going to try to practice being present, part of me thinks I'm jinxing myself by even talking about it in a positive light. But that's what I'm going to do.

Does anyone else get excited for a concert or something similar, than on the day of get cold feet and nervous? What are tips you do in a situation like this?

Hugs to all y'all

Dom

Absolutely! Seems like more apprehension about going to the venue rather than the concert itself. I wish you could take us all with you! Sounds wonderful and so uplifting! Let us know about it after you go!

Thanks. Indefinitely found myself inline with tons of people and I stayed present and breathed. It was so worth it :)

I do!! I am so excited prior and then the day of I am just a mess. Some things I do are: dress in layers, I know if I get overheated it won’t end well. Wear comfortable supportive shoes. Hydrate and eat balanced meals prior. I also make sure to grab a water while there. I usually try to bring some sort of granola bar or something with me to either leave in the car or have on hand inside if needed. Lastly I take an essential oil, or beaded bracelet (that I can fidget with if necessary). Lastly, I try to stay present like you said. Oh and I tell myself that I can always leave if I really need to. All will go well. You’re going to have a great time! Enjoy!

Wow I do so many of the same things! Were both smart. Keeping a snack and water is a must. I love the essential oils bracelet. that's a great idea. What is your favorite smell?

Oh gosh so many! I do not like the smell of roman chamomile, but I feel that it really relaxes me if I am nerved up. What is your favorite oil?

Lately I like the bergamot and lavender

I used to get so anxious going to events - the crowd was one of my triggers I think. If we were high up I would feel nauseous. Now I just try to stay mindful of the event and importantly the people I’m with - I do still close my eyes & breathe deeply if I feel overwhelmed! Enjoy your event/ I’m sure you’ll be happy you went !

We were really high up and evertime my mind started pulling in a direction I didn't like I took a deep breath and reminded myself to stay present and I deserved to have fun and relax. I think the beer also helped :)

It is an amazing show. My husband and I went two years ago. I would like to go again. I have RLS which played up during the performance so I walked over to the handicap area and stood. I try very hard to keep doing things I have always done. It's not always possible, but I refuse to give up any more joy than I have to. Have a lovely night with your family. Pam
