when i am literally walking normally and many people glance at me real quickely, turn away, then look back real fast as if they saw something different. tons of people always do this to me daily. i always feel stared at. does this happen to anyone else? is their something wrong with me that this happens with little or older people? it just gets annoying and makes me feel so insecure

Lunazay, this has happened to me all my life.

There was a time that I use to want to lash out

when it went on in a restaurant or standing in line.

Just a couple times back then, I mumbled under my

breath "take a picture, it lasts longer"...

But that's not me Lunazay and I don't think that's you

either. It can be a very uncomfortable feeling.

So, when it happens now and it does, I smile back, which

usually gives me back a smile as well as stops the staring.

If you take it as a compliment, it won't bother you so much. :) xx

It sounds to me like what you are experiencing is very normal. What happens mostly is people glance at others to be sure of their surroundings, see who is coming towards them, or moving near them. It's good to do this, to be aware of who is around you. But if when they look up at you they notice you also looking at them they realize you made eye contact and since they looked away they immediately look back not to stare but to acknowledge they aren't trying to be rude but instead making eye contact back. This is where a kind smile should be inserted and perhaps the kindness of saying "Good Morning." or such. But often people all feel stared at and awkward. I always make eye contact and smile, and that usually makes the other person feel good and they smile back. I sometimes will even throw a compliment their way like "Beautiful hair you have." or something nice depending on the situation, if it's a guy I might say: "Love your beard!" or "Nice shirt." Or, just a simple "Good morning" works too.

You're like me WebMistress. Nothing ever stops me from complimenting someone

on their shoes, dress, hair etc. A compliment and/or a smile can make a positive

difference in someone's day. :) xx

Hi I agree with the two lady's who wrote to you. It does not bother me if people stare I think, maybe they think they know me and are trying to remember from where and what my name is. I like to dress different and with color, that catches their eye, some say something. I do the same thing, I love to give complements and I can tell they like it, just like I do when I receive a complement. Enjoy it, it shows we are still alive and interesting. Have a good day, week, rest of the year, carry your compliments like and pak of cards and hand them out. Sending confidence, love and hugs....Sprinkle 1.....

I feel this on a daily basis. It's painful for me since I've been in an abusive relationship that was toxic for my self-esteem and mental health. I almost ALWAYS feel like people are staring at me which intensifies my insecurities. I will often find a public restroom and check to see if there's something on my face or if my zipper is undone, things like that
