Feeling down..

Hello,

I have not yet gone to the doctor or gotten any kind of help. I’m not even sure exactly what I should call what has been going on with me. For years I randomly get this feeling of being overwhelmed. I find myself being on edge and feeling anxious. Very moody, sleeping often.. not feeling very motivated. I’ve been placed in a lot of stressful situations over the years and as the stress rolls in.. I see these symptoms more often.

Any tips on how to calm down and just relax? I may not have found the right group. I don’t want to be that person that diagnoses themselves with things.. but I do feel that I am depressed and may have some kind of anxiety.

Hi. You could be depressed with anxiety. I would suggest making an appointment with your doctor and explain what you have been feeling (make a list before you go). Medication and or therapy could help. As for relaxation tips I think that is more dependent on you. I enjoy taking my dogs out to play. What do you enjoy doing? Then try to make a point to do something for yourself each day. I have found this forum quite helpful and supportive. Wishing you the best. Keep posting and others that can relate will reply.

I have 2 small children, so I hardly ever take time for myself. That is definitely something that needs to change. Even if it’s just for an hour or so.

I dont have children but definitely understand about not taking time for yourself. I think I could be the poster child for taking time because if not this is what happens. Ugh! Even a half hour of "me" time to sit and have a glass of tea...❤

Hi welcome to the group.

I agree with All_alone. Sounds like anxiety and depression. You need your md to diagnose.

Definitely wrote down what you are feeling and when it happens. Mayb you can see some common denominator there.

Are you sleeping and eating ok? Are you socializing less? These are things your md will want to know.

I use meditation to stop my brain from constantly thinking. I also do yoga.

You have to find things to distract that you enjoy doing.

Make that appointment so you can get the help you need and get your life back on track. You've taken the first step by reaching out.
