Need some experiences Started week 8 of taking sertraline first two weeks 25mg then four weeks of 50mg and now into my second week of 100mg after stopping paroxetine after 20 years. Last three weeks horrendous anxiety with a day here and there ok. Today is really bad what do people do to help calm down and what are people’s experiences of when they start to feel a little better only positive replies please as need some encouragement to keep going

It’s perfectly normal to have anxiety

Fear of the future is like emotional withdrawal! I practice deep breathing wherever I am! I try to find bathroom

First! Singing breaks the bad thoughts

It really works!

Look for hobbies to change those negative moods of your Anxiety.

Be patient with the medications your Doctor is getting you introduced to a working dose of your medication. You will be ok, try and relax. Have you any activities you enjoy. Diversions do help in becoming more positive

I'm going through the exact same thing right this minute as I'm messaging you and for the last 3 days. Slot of people tell me to breath of go do something to take your mind of it..... But... It's not working I know how you are feeling. I'm seeing my psyco doctor Monday can't wait. Sorry I couldn't give you advise but I want you to know,

Your not alone think of me and I will think of you sometimes it helps knowing that someone is going through the same xxx

If you have any hobbies, diversions you enjoy they can help with your Anxiety by increasing positive substances in the brain that make you more positive in your attitude.

You also need to discuss with your Doctors other treatments such as CBT, IF you have not attended sessions before. It is important you address your anxiety or your mood will not change and any negativity you have will not change.

Try Breathing techniques and Mindfulness Relaxation Technique, books for the later can be purchased for approx £8.00 STG . Breathing Techniques can be found on the Internet, or you can ask your GP or Surgery

What is causing your problems, to understand your condition will help you control your fears

Sorry to hear you are going through the same as me it is horrible. What is causing your anxiety. Are you coming off one med onto another? Are you taking sertraline if so what dosage are you on and for how long ? Perhaps we can help each other

I've had anxiety for 15 and depression at the moment I'm coming off one tablet going on another. I haven't tried sertraline everyone seems to be talking about it.

My dr gave me quetiapine to take 2x a day it’s helped me for a week but now the anxiety is back, constant fear panic and sickness. I also started sertraline about 3 weeks ago at 25mg now up to 100mg last few days but appears I’m still relying on the diazepam but cannot shift this feeling at all now. I had 5 weeks of it prior to diagnosis and I’m petrified I’ll end up back where I started x

I only finally got help by taking myself to a&e with suicidal thoughts from it all 😰
