My anxiety is sky high again. Took my last 10mg paroxetine 5 weeks ago today. Then 25mg sertraline next day for two weeks now been on 50mg for three weeks. Wasn’t doing to bad until Sunday last week when the anxiety went sky high and has lasted all week apart from yesterday when I had a good day but unfortunately had another sleepless night last night with anxiety right up again.
Went to doctors last Tuesday as was getting me down and he proscribed 2mg diazepam. Decided not to take it until a few hours ago but does not seem to have any effect. Am going to take another 2mg before I go to bed to see if there is a difference tomorrow. Has anyone else tried diazepam if so how long before you see it help.
Also what are other peoples experiences on sertraline before the anxiety calms down
Thanks for reading and sorry for the vent

The thing is I have nothing to be depressed or anxious about. Have a supportive husband and lovely kids. I am just assuming it is the chemical imbalance going from paroxetine for 20years odd to sertraline 5 weeks ago
Sertraline, the generic name for Zoloft, can cause anxiety, agitation and insomnia. There are a few other listed as well. Paroxetine (Paxil) has similar side effects. For me, trying different medications until we found the right balance was all that we could do. It takes awhile to get the right combination.
I had a similar experience on Sertraline and it only got worse so I had to try other pills, if it get worse ask your doctor is you can try other medications unfortunately it's trial and error. Diazepam didn't have any effect on me so I can't comment on how long it takes sorry.
