I've been on generic lexapro 10mg for a year. I recently saw a new MD for continued anxiety Andy dose was increased to 15mg. Since I already have 10mg she sent an Rx for 5mg to a new pharmacy I'm using. When I picked it up I noticed the pharmaceutical manufacturer is different from the 10mg dose from the other pharmacy. I'm afraid to combine meds from 2 different manufacturers. I know it's my anxiety and OCD making me afraid, but what if there are slight differences in the compounds and I react badly? I called the pharmacy and they said not an issue. Called my doc too but no response yet. I can't just ask for original pharmacy to fill it because insurance won't pay for it this soon. Just picked it up Thursday and noticed this difference. Any one else ever had similar issue?

Generic med concerns
I would just like to commend you on paying such close attention to your meds. Noticing the difference and questioning it is a great way to advocate for yourself.
Because you are anxious you should wait for your GP to answer you. Then you will have two opinions on what to do.
Thank you. My anxiety causes me to pay close attention to everything. I wish I could just take it and not worry so much 🙁
Hi lisa I'm also on generic Lexapro and the pharmaceutical company has also
changed for me as well. I've been on 15mg for 7 years and recently upped to 20mg.
Like you that extra 5mg was by this different company. Now that I got my refill
of a 20mg tablet, it is also by this same company and I feel no difference. Give the
5 mg a few days for your body to adjust and you should be just fine. Wishing you well. xx
