Hello Friends. I am a newcomer to this community and I’ve never really done anything like this so pardon me if I sound a bit awkward. I’ve had anxiety and depression for a while now, but my depression has gotten so bad lately. I’m constantly seeing the bad in every situation, have no motivation to do the things I love, and I don’t even want to be around my husband as every little thing he does annoys me. Is this normal, or am I going completely crazy? I just started on Trintellix but haven’t seen an improvement so far. I’m desperately looking for a solution, because being constantly unhappy is taking a toll on me and my marriage, considering I’ve only been married for a year. I’m a Christ follower and find my worth in him, and that should be enough to subside my crazy thoughts - but somehow I keep stumbling and feel like I’m on an desolate journey with no end in sight.

First off welcome to the site!

This is the ugly disease talking to you....are you in therapy? That is very helpful. I also believe in forcing positive thoughts into our minds, as they produce more positive for you...just like negative will produce more.

Is there a place that makes you happy? Even if just thinking about it.... or perhaps lighting a candle, a bubble bath, doing a puzzle, reading a good book or watching a happy movie?

I'm here for you and so wish you peace of mind....

Dump trucks of love, peace, light, joy and groovy hugs!

Welcome.

You’re normal for an abnormal situation.

As a spiritual person you did exactly what you’re supposed to do. Reach out to the community. I’ve been in the same place.

If your pancreas quit working you’d get some insulin. Now your brain is having neurotransmitter problems. It’s time to reach out to your doctor to get help. Sometimes it’s meds, it can be exercise and meditation. There are ways to change your neurotransmitters. Talk to your doctor. The motivation symptom is when you know it’s time for ‘medical’ intervention.

Take care of your brain. Take care of your body. It’s the same thing.

I’m glad you’re here.

Thank you for kind words. 😊

I am depressed too.at the moment but it has occurred to me that the world we live in is so messed up right now and sadness is the appropriate response

This attitude must surely be a byproduct of my deppression

Yes, I don’t even watch the news because things in this world are very sad. We just have to strive to see the beauty in small things, even though that can be so difficult 😞

Thanks for reaching out that is a great first step and I am sorry you are facing this. I am also a Christ follower and have experienced serious bouts of depression and anxiety. I think sometimes we can feel guilty for having these feelings which can lead to more depression and anxiety. This is something that can be very difficult to deal with on your own. I have heard that Focus on the Family has counselors that are available to help at anytime and I have found them to be a great resource over the years. The phone number is 855-382-5433. I hope this might be helpful to you! My thoughts are with you!
