Hello everyone!! How are you all feeling? I can’t always keep up with posts everyday so Would love to hear how everyone is doing, please do reply x

Well I had a very rough time last week. Went into full shut down mode , no eating, no light, in bed for 4 days. It obviously made me physically ill too so that was the cherryπŸ’ on top.

We have been in this house for a year now and worked on the renovations inside. It’s our first time as home owners. Our gardens all around the house were neglected for a year. Yesterday I got up had a shower , a bite to eat, wellies on and just dove on in clearing everything ! Weeds, thorns, nettles everything! Hubby mowed the lawn and bagged up all the rubbish. I want to clear it all out ready for either this year or the next. I want flowers, veg and fruits. Never done gardening before , have NO IDEA WHAT IM DOING. Feet and hands are all scraped, nails ruined BUT!!!!! My friends!!!! ONE DAY... I will show you a beautiful garden full of plants, flowers fruits, veg and creatures! 🐦 πŸ¦‹ 🐝 🐿 🐜 🌷 🌹 🍎 🍊 🍐 πŸ… πŸ₯¬ and Gnomes... I’ve wanted a Gnome my whole life! It’s time to get Gnomes! (Any tips on gardening are welcome) πŸ‘‹πŸ½ πŸ’•

Those cookies sound amazing ... 3 of my favorite things 😍

My husband is hoping to finally get a garden going to... our yard is a jungle right now with all the rain we got. We are leaving for our trip in a few days. Still anxious about it... but know we'll have fun. Have lots if support to help me out. 😊

🌈Sorry no gardening tips... kind if a black thumb, shocked to not have killed the plants my mom gave me when she moved.πŸ’—

YouTube was my bestfriend, my sunflowers look beautiful

Youtube is always my best friend... recently this Wendy and Kevin mess has got me hooked loool (ignore me if you don’t know what I’m talking about 🀣)

Aww I might grow Sunflowers too they’re my fav !

Try Sweat peas. Put some seeds in pots now & just follow the instructions on the packet. Or sow some seeds outside. Or both. You'll be really blessed.

Personally, I wouldn't have a gnome.

Another one you will find easy is stick beans/kidney beans. You could sow them outside now or start in pots. Only use the Scarlet Emperor variety.

Taste far better than shop bought. Just pick a few, trim, slice & boil for 10 mins.

For both you will need to buy some 6ft bamboo canes & garden string (cheapest in Wilkos, I think).

To keep slugs off, keep all your eggshells. Crush them and put around base of each plant. Drop some in soil too, before putting in young plant.

Watering both well is very important.

Don't be afraid to pinch out Sweet Peas. As they start to grow second shoots, cut or pinch off new growth. This encourages more new growth ( more flowers) and strength.

Broad Beans are easy, if you like them. (High in iron ) .But some say they can get black fly. I grew them once and it didn't happen.

You could try a few Giant Sunflowers, but slugs love them! Try putting the eggshells in the base of pots as well as on surface of foil.of surface . Grow them in pots for as long as you can.

You could be adventurous and try sweetcorn on the cob!

Look out for pots of herbs reduced when the dates up. I have Parsley in the garden and Thyme that were about 10p each in Tescos.

Don't plant mint out in the garden as it will spread and take over.

Happy gardening .

Have fun!

I'm struggling. It's been a really difficult week.

in reply to bluestars725

Thank you .

I’m sorry.. my advice is to try something to pass your time. A walk, paint, read, gardening etc x it really helps to physically do something .

Yes, just trying to get through it at this point. A friend stopped by today unexpectedly. That was a nice distraction for a bit, even though I think they could tell I wasn't doing well.

in reply to bluestars725

That’s a lovely distraction.

How are you doing today x

I'm doing okay today. Already had some anxiety this morning, which is frustrating, but it's actually my birthday today, so just trying to relax.

Hi Hope! So I saw an ad in a park magizine I get that gives info for nature and exercise etc classes /programs, farmers market info... i found an ad about training available to become a master gardener at a park nearby. It really triggered me because that is really something I could get into if it were not for my conditions bothering me. I don’t want to push myself if it will result in another breakdown like work has done in the past but I don’t want to miss an opportunity either. I guess only I know when I am ready for it. It’s given me a tension headache just thinking about it. Now I feel so down.

in reply to Starrlight

Oh wow that sounds like a wonderful opportunity but only if you’re up to it x

Maybe you can sign up and try one day but if you don’t like it the you can stop x

Definitely try gardening at home if thats what you enjoy maybe that’s a good first step

Good luck x

Yeah it’s hard because I never know if I’m going to have a freak out day or not. I think I’ll find out more information about it for now. Thanks for your response Hope.

in reply to Starrlight

That’s how I am too with everything πŸ˜”

But I made a promise to myself to kind of force myself to do one day and if it’s not for me then leave it and not feel bad .

That doesn’t work for everyone though. Please don’t feel pressurised... it’s a hobby... keep it light and try your best not to overthink it x

And hey you don’t have to join a club to enjoy gardening x πŸ’•

Erm this excitement lasted a week before I gave up 😳 the gardens are now complete jungles πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
