Hi Nita ,
I can totally understand how you feel ! I have found a lot of support attending a weekly support group for mental illnesses in my town.
If you are in the USA search for an organization called NAMI , they have great support groups .
This message board is also a great place to find support and friendships .
Wishing you the best ! ❤️
I have researched about this, and there is one in my town. The problem, though, is that the description mentioned how it provided friends and family support, and this is something I'm dealing with alone. I don't need friends or family to be there, so, do you know if they offer support groups where you can attend alone?
The family and friends is for people who have someone in their lives who is struggling with mentally illness.
The one you want is call Peer to Peer Support group ! See if you can find out if there is one . Or you can call them and see if there is another organization that provides the same type of support group .
Oh okay, I'll look into that, thank you!
Hi getting all the support you can is great but just be choosy whom you confide in as many don't or want to understand it. Get your connection with these types by common interests instead. You don't need to have everyone know and understand your mental health issues to not feel alone. You are still you so don't let your illness define you. x
I can't think of one person who understands me either. I also don't understand other people either, though, which is why I probably hardly have a social life. It's so frustrating, to say the least.
I totally get it! I spent a night trying to explain what depression really feels like to my sister but it just can't be explained.
