I went to a therapist for the first time after being recommended to for a long time now. Turns out it was a really good idea, it was really fun, learned a lot about why my brain keeps me in the past and how to snap myself back into the present. The past is horrifying and the future is full of anxiety. So let's be happy and focus on the present!

First Therapist Visit
Congrats on having such a good appointment!
hi glad you went to therapy.like the attitude not many people would say that after a first visit.lets hope it helps do the trick and has you back on track again soon.
I think a lot of it is how old the problem is for me. Normally I would have been superreluctant, but I've become super open about the problems.
Wow was it really helpful ? I've been wanting to go too but I've been too scared in case the therapist has a bias towards my issues or gives advice that worsens my condition. I've heard so much about inempathetic therapists it's kind of scary
It may depend on where you live and such. I can see it being a problem in cities where there can be too many clients for doctors to handle. I live in the rural country, and the doctor was very nice. He prefaced us talking with telling me that he would not hold any bias. He was a much older individual as well. I can multiple different experiences happening but I mean, take the shot if you have insurance and stuff, cant hurt to try. If you dislike the doctor and stuff you can always try to find another.
So happy to hear! Positivity can be contagious so thanks for a dose of that! I love therapy as well haha
I'm so glad you had a good day & your appointment went really well by the sounds of it. Thank you for posting about your experience. I've been debating on whether to try therapy & haven't managed to find the courage to book an appointment yet. You post is inspiring!!! Definitely helping me come around to the idea. I love how open people on here are being & how people share their positive results also. Makes me a little happier & hopeful that there is light at the end of this tunnel.
Right on! You're on the right track.
