Hi can someone help me. I went to sleep but I started feeling nervous and me heart was beating so fast and I felt scared. I would hear like something is moving in my room but there is no one except my dad who is sleeping. I looked it up and it says something like it's a panic attack but I'm not sure cause I never had one. Had anybody felt like this. Thanks

Panic attacks are very scary lots of people here have them,can you make a doctor appointment and just explain what your saying ,and get some checks done ?
Yes I can but I don't know I don't I'm worried what they gonna say

Like lynnalice I’ve had lots of them and learned coping skills ,breathing exercises and meditation 🧘🏻♂️ Helps ,cut out caffeine,I’ve been to er lots of times but it’s important to let a doctor check you over then if it is anxiety and panic attacks they can help you ,
It might have been just a heightened state of anxiety or might have been an attack.

I’m sorry, they are really scary to experience but with some coping skills it does get better. Breathing exercises, therapy, medication, prayer, support all help.
Have you ever had one?
Oh yes, since I had my first one at 20 and I’m 39 now, I’ve had hundreds at least.
How does it feel for you, is it scary?
Absolutely scary! When I have those feelings now, I talk to someone and try to take deep breaths then release them slowly. If I can’t talk to anyone like I’m at work then I have to self talk and calm myself down. I take medication now every night and it has helped me manage them much better.

Just to ask how often do you have them?
Now I only have them when I’m super stressed like recently I started a new job, but even then I didn’t have a full panic attack more of just really anxious feelings. I had my last episode of bad panic attacks in 2017 and that was unmedicated with major life stress going on.
I have been there. One night out of no where I woke up with such panic. Now at random times I have panic attacks which I have managed. It really sound like a panic attack you have gone through.

Sounds like a panic attack. My panic attacks seem much worse when they’re sleep related. Something to do with being half awake makes it even scarier. You should see therapist and get help ASAP so that it doesn’t escalate. I avoided therapy for the longest time until my anxiety escalated to a point where I had a mental breakdown and cried on the phone with my new therapist everyday
Had the same thing. I believe that it is the beginning of a panic attack.
